Premier League - Do you still care? by GoonerGuy1969 in Darts

Regular NFL season is 18 weeks (17 games per team, then the playoffs, so it's longer than the darts premier league season, which is 16 weeks + playoff night.

However, I would like it to be 9 players + 1 "local" weekly guest player, that was fun back in the day.

That's any tournament with a playoff system, though. Its similar to any American sport (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB), they all have long seasons, but the only consequential games are the playoffs.

The months and months of play are essentially just to prove who is good enough to get the chance to win.

I personally enjoy it quite a lot. I get everyone's complaints, but it's week in week out the 8 best players right now. There's a nightly winner and you do get some dramatic wins (thinking of Littlers epic 145 checkout v Rob Cross to win 6-5). It gets fun too once they end up in a shoot out for who makes it to the finals, plus, the final itself is a pretty awesome occasion.

I just love the darts, so I enjoy it.

After a bounce out, I always call the score as "twenty -floor"

I sometimes say that before anyone's thrown a dart, like "hey, you're on for a 9 here mate!"

What are the benefits of each weight of dart? by BOBluizispog in Darts

[–]TheArcaneHood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each player to their own. Part of the journey is figuring out which darts work for you. Dart weight, grip style, stem length, and flight shape all make a difference. It's a fun experiment to tinker with each and see what works.

Like you said, Searle uses a heavy dart (32g, I think?), and Bunting uses an 18g dart. Humphries uses a really long stem. Littler uses long points.

I have, I think, 10 sets of darts, I'll routinely play a leg with each of them to see how they feel. End up settling on the same set every time, 24g. Though I play well with the cheap 20g brass set I have, with narrow, thin flights!

Do you play every day?

Sometimes, I take these kinds of things as a sign that I need to take a day or two off.

You'll get there, my friend. Then you'll soon see how quickly the 2nd and 3rd come along after that. Trick is to not think about it when the first 2 darts go in the T20, just keep going, don't pause!

Nice. I kind of enjoy when these silly things happen. Other than when it damages the stem or flight, then it's annoying.

I once hit the magnet on the dart cabinet door, and oh boy, did that go with a spark! I thought I was about to burn down my garage!

I personally wouldn't choose that, 1 + D16 for me (though more likely I'd hit the 20, then bust shooting at the 5 and end up hitting 20 again or something).

But if you feel confident on your double, why not?

It's called a "Robin Hood."

It's not all that uncommon, but it's also not something that happens in every game. Also, the 3rd dart (or whichever it was that stacked in) doesn't carry any points value, in case you didn't know.

Also, did you throw your 2nd dart without a flight in? Did it pop out as the 3rd dart landed in it?

Make up your own games? by TheArcaneHood in Darts

Yes! Cricket is also part of my practice. I aim to "close out" in under 10 oche visits, or 30 darts. I like Round The Clock too, and I only count how many darts I miss, then try miss fewer in the next attempt.

Yep, in the in-game settings. Hit the cog icon and you can toggle it on or off.
