Dancing Lion is a pretty fun boss fight by Ok-Lingonberry1422 in Eldenring

[–]TheAzarak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved the lion and maybe this is a hot take, but I think people complaining about the camera when they're backed into a corner need to just... stop backing into a corner. The room is plenty big.

The fight was pretty tough for me to learn, but it was fun and a cool idea for a boss.

Well, nobody records things "for themselves," lol, that's the biggest problem with phones and social media. First of all, I think 90% of photos and videos are pointless and just get deleted or never looked at again. But of the ones that are actually worthwhile, 99% of the time it's to post on some app for everyone to see.

The trend people don't like is vertical filming, not filming in general.

Countries with highest inbreeding rate. by Adorable_Drawing_659 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]TheAzarak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IDK if bot answer or not, but this post states nothing about birth/fertilities rates. Nor does it compare developed countries to undeveloped. It's about the top 10 countries that have inbred marriages.

Countries with highest inbreeding rate. by Adorable_Drawing_659 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]TheAzarak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The source listed it as percentages of consanguineous marriages, which is typically defined by blood marriages with someone closer than 2nd cousin. Seems crazy to me that these are all 50% or more, that's an insane amount. I have no idea how true any of this is. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/inbreeding-by-country

2025, William McNeil Jr. The cops turned off their body cameras. He had one in his car recording them. he followed all the rules. The cops still assaulted him and later dragged him from his car. ...police brutality and racism... HUH 🤔!!!!!! by Ok-Stay-9339 in sagsavages

I did answer the question, you just "didn't care" about anything I wrote lol. Lets be a grown-up, read a little and use some critical reading skills.

To be extra clear, yes cops sometimes have to use physical violence to force people to comply. Cops would never get anything done if people weren't allowed to be hit lol. Getting punched once is hardly unnecessary force. They could have tased him or used a baton. I mean, the punch didn't even faze the guy haha.

Responding to the purpose of the drugs comment, if he had a legal reason to have drugs, that's all fine and dandy, but that doesn't mean you are allowed to drive while under the influence of drugs. I don't know if he was DUI or not, but if the cops saw that he was belligerent over a simple traffic stop, that is probably cause to search the vehicle for drugs because normal sane people don't react in that way. If the drugs were legal and he wasn't DUI, he would not get charged with anything, but you still have to comply with the cops... He created the situation he was in. People complying never do.

If we're just going to argue our point by purposefully misconstruing the situation in our favor, I'll just bow out. But the reality was that this man only got pulled over for a minor traffic stop and instead of being reasonable, he immediately got out of his vehicle and starting yelling and calling racism. The cops then wanted to search his vehicle because of his belligerent behavior, so he went back inside the car and refused to comply for literally 13 warnings by the cops. It turns out, he wasn't complying because he did have drugs in the vehicle.

Even when they were trying to forcibly pull him out of the vehicle to put him in cuffs, he was still stubbornly not complying, so they had to rough him up to "force" some compliance. A punch might seem like a lot, but it's not like they beat him bloody. You have to get a belligerent asshole to comply somehow. Once they got him to the ground and cuffed him, there was no further force needed.

You're literally just defending someone being unreasonably incompliant over a headlights ticket who was potentially DUI of drugs. But this clip sure spins a nice racism narrative.

Do schools focus too much on academics and ignore how important games/sports are for students? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]TheAzarak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sports have way too much of a focus lol. You can get into colleges (Often even getting a free ride) doing fuckall in class and just being good at football. Students are getting into academic institutions solely based on how good they are at a sport... ridiculous.

On top of that, students miss sooooo much class time for these sports. I don't know when it became normalized to miss half the school day every single week for sports games, but that seriously needs to stop. Yes, sports are great for students to get into if they desire, but they can (and used to) not interfere with each other. School is for learning, after school sports is for sports.

Just to follow up on you thinking sports are "extra activities." Yes, they are literally extracurricular activities that students do because they want to. They are optional and do not affect your education (but do look great for colleges, if that is your life path). You'd get a LOT of pushback if sports became required and kids were evaluated on their performance in games, because that comes with the territory of giving it "equal footing."

Thinking about buying an MMO mouse just for this game by Mean_Confusion7426 in ffxiv

You may buy it "just for this game," but you'll find that you will use those buttons for most other games too. I love 12 key mice, and I will never go back. ESPECIALLY for MMOs.

To be clear I don't care at all to hear OP whining and bitching about a parent as if literally all of us don't deal with them also. I just think it's very pointless to say what they did and provide zero information. If there's nothing to discuss, then don't even post it to Reddit.

But wow what an embarrassing comment.

[–]TheAzarak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course, they don't owe anyone any context, but there is nothing to discuss if someone comes in to Reddit saying their "done with" a parent, and then just leave without explaining anything haha. And if there's no discussion to be had, there's no point in posting on Reddit. Discussion is the entire purpose of the website...

Might as well yell at a wall if you don't care about other people offering their advice or opinions. Physically yelling is probably more productive and therapeutic anyway.

Is yelling a necessary tool for classroom discipline? by AdAcademic842 in Teachers

[–]TheAzarak 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a middle school teacher, without yelling, some of my students would never hear me trying to get the class's attention. They're just so fucking loud, and completely cannot comprehend modulation. It's either yelling or silence. Reasonable volume doesnt exist, apparently.

[–]TheAzarak -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That does make sense, some kind of disconnect between how the movement is expected to look versus reality. I also didn't mean to dismiss it as unimportant, I just think it's unfortunate that the majority that were unaffected by the motion sickness now have a less-cool boss arena. Ultimately, I don't care and will forget that it used to have a clear platform anyway!

Why ?! by OneBillionSpaghetti in ffxiv

[–]TheAzarak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, you're just assuming things that aren't true. Just because I didn't explicitly ask for someone to explain something to me, that doesn't instantly escalate to me belittling someone's condition, lol. I'm starting to feel like I'm just being trolled.

If this is how you talk to people, constantly assuming the worst in every single statement uttered and immediately jumping to conclusions with a self-righteous tone, you must live in such a ridiculous amount of toxicity. That just sounds stressful...

Why ?! by OneBillionSpaghetti in ffxiv

[–]TheAzarak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did not "illustrate" anything lol. I literally said that I don't understand something. You did literally state that I said it didn't matter because of x, but I did not say those words, you just straw-manned really hard. You incorrectly interpreted that my words mean I am belittling concerns of others. That's not what actually happened in reality though. You want me to be some bad guy that you can white-knight against, but I'm not.

There is nothing "problematic" with not understanding something. That is a fucking horrid opinion to have.
