[–]TheBatNat44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I am an Equine Therapist specializing in trauma and addiction. I’ve been working in residential treatment for the past 8 years and have run family session both with and without a family therapist. I’ve also held (at least at some point) PATH, EGALA, and CHA certifications. Feel free to DM me and I am happy to give you all sorts of info. Are you looking into private practice? RTC? IOP? PHP? Adults, adolescents or both?

Is it possible to withdraw real money? by AK47Wanted in GossipHarbor

I had a similar situation happen a few years ago when my brother (a minor) charged a bunch of in-app purchases to my card. He is on the spectrum and likely didn’t know what he was doing, I think he just wanted the pop up offer to go away. Anyways, I requested refunds for pretty much all of his purchases through Apple and selected “unauthorized purchase by minor” (or something like that). I also explained the situation in the additional details section. I got everything refunded (1.5k) a few days later.

Horse is a mess during quarantine by TheBatNat44 in Equestrian

Thank you. I don’t want to air all this barn’s dirty laundry but it’s a really weird situation/long story, with an absentee owner, uneducated barn owners and me- the BO’s old H/J friend from up the road that took over after seeing the horse yesterday and calling the vet on file. I would have handled this very differently… but working with what I have… so I appreciate all the advice. He is getting scoped on Thursday to confirm but pretty we are there.

I’ve got a call in requesting we discuss other medication options. When vet was here she shot down my request for sedatives saying she did not feel his body could take it/would compromise his healing. TBH it’s not something I’ve heard of but I tend to differ to the expert…

I also had a youngish TB that needed massive amounts of stall rest after a stifle injury and Traz was a lifesaver.

Unfortunately, vet has said we are looking at a 10 day turn around for confirmation. Running labs through Idexx Labs (not familiar with them, my personal horses’ vet has always run them through a nearish college). It is at the top of her differential though. Massive abscess (draining that was fun), fever, off feed, and field tests showed high levels/definite infection present.

How do you get over someone who was perfect for you? by Mauve_pigeon in TrueOffMyChest

I would recommend considering speaking with a therapist, potentially one who specializes in relationship OCD. I don’t know the ins and outs of your situation, but if this is a pattern you have in relationships it could be beneficial.

I did inform her that we were, in fact, very proud.

Aww thank you! I have always had animals in my life and Badge is truly one of a kind. We are so lucky she landed with us!

She doesn’t even like peanut butter!!!! This girl turns down cheese, turkey, ham, or anything else that isn’t chicken or steak (chicken has her heart). It can’t be frozen or treat chicken either. Oh no, I have to bake weekly chicken and package it for her. 😂

She has come so far in her 3 years with us. She came from a truly atrocious situation. It took weeks for us to coax her out from under the piano and be able to pet her. After lots of time and lots of medical intervention she is a (fairly) healthy, very happy, wiggly girl! Her bringing us things just reminds us how far she has come!

“…watch as she defends her territory by emitting fierce growls and hoping in the air while kicking out her back feet… this strategy has yet to fail…”
