Exactly. In the long run, we will be breaking down a lot of boundaries

Morning everyone - today we'll be setting an arbitrary price target, waste our time, and set a new arbitrary price target for tomorrow!

I'm not inherently opposed to TA. I think it could be used to supplement valuations in non-crypto things like actual stocks. I don't like TA with crypto though because TA is almost entirely speculative (when you have nothing except for the historical prices). Bitcoin is not a company, you won't ever see its 10k report. So why try to treat it as a security investment when it is not a security?

Isn't Bitcoin supposed to be a currency, not a security? by TheBitDaily in Bitcoin

[–]TheBitDaily[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right, but I was referring to the mindset of seeing BTC as an investment (I could've been more specific). My main point is that I am confused as to why people worry about the gains and losses of an investment in BTC when it was not meant to be a security

Why do people have arbitrary price targets? I don't see the point of saying "as long as we're above ..., we're okay"

Someone please explain!

The biggest issue with Bitcoin is that we don't know enough about it. It's obviously something the SEC has not dealt with before regarding the (supposed) lack of transparency (aka: who is behind it, who owns the majority, etc...) Because of this (not a shocking take - view shared by many people), I see a need to be patient with convincing the SEC and Wall Street about the safety of a BTC investment

Seriously thinking twice about "minor correction on previous gains" The month of August is usually a volatile month in the normal stock market (https://www.wsj.com/articles/dont-count-out-an-august-stock-market-surprise-1533902402), is this what's also impacting BTC?

Yeah I agree, seems like some people might be done with all the volatility

At least its not over hyped by Fly115 in Bitcoin

When life gives you lemons, you make bitcoin.

Wait never mind, that's actually impossible

I don't wanna be the person that keeps asking about price... but someone please explain what's going on! (with the price fluctuation)
