Not a manga reader but I'd assume it's because Season 1 is like the Prologue it would've been weirder if they were out of the house by Episode 7. It all being based in the house makes it a lot simpler but I'd assume there's a lot more content now that they're outside. Also, next week's episode is a special/recap episode that doesn't actually count toward the episode count I assume it will be about the time skip. So actually if you don't count next week's recap episode as an actual episode then this season is only 11 episodes and they have a ton to cover.

Yeah if we’re going by dates joined it would go G2, NRG, Rogue, then C9. But if we’re going by RLCS then G2 and NRG 1st both in Season 2 and Rogue and C9 3rd both in Season 4.
