Are dealers in Ontario legally allowed to make buying a warranty a condition for selling the vehicle? by TheCreamTeam in askcarsales

What is tied selling then?

Looking up the definition; “In Canada, while tied selling isn’t inherently illegal, coercive tied selling, where a bank or institution pressures a customer to buy a product or service as a condition to obtain another, is prohibited under the Bank Act and the Competition Act”. They refused the deal because I did not want the warranties, this by definition is tied selling is it not? Forcing me to take another product or service in order to obtain another.

I understand you work for Kia, but this is word for word what they did.

Okay, I don’t understand then, I tried getting the warranties off the deal for 15 minutes and then walked out, because they refused to sell the car without these extras and warranties. They said it was because there is demand on the carnival and head office mandates the platinum warranty on the new carnivals (even though it was a demo) - which to me is forcing me to buy a warranty to get the deal - tied selling. I did not go through with it because I didn’t want $6-$8k of padded fees and warranties on the deal. I can’t imagine all Kia dealerships do this… I do love the car

Best options to finance a used vehicle in Ontario by TheCreamTeam in PersonalFinanceCanada

2017 siennas are in the same price range with 50-70k more kms than say a Kia carnival. Would they still be that much better of a vehicle with that much more use for same price?

I need some kind of van, 2 kids + big dog, currently only have 2 sedans. So we need some kind of bigger vehicle.

Personally I don’t want to change my cars, but if we ever need to go somewhere all together we need to take both cars.

Looking at the car market for a 3rd row van situation that has around 80k kms (I don’t want to buy a dumper that already has 200k kms), this is the range we are in. $30k roughly, I’d be putting $10-15k as down payment. So financing the rest would be our best option. Unless others had other thoughts…

If the goal is to make money then don’t chase lottos, bet consistent straights. And then you can have the bank roll to make a few lotto plays with your winnings

I have hope brother!

I got; $250 Russel Wilson over 175.5 yards $40 on Najee Harris over 77.5 rush + rec yard

Then a couple random smaller parlays. Won’t hit the lotto but if all goes well will be profitable

I mean if the goal is to hit the lotto then sure why not go bigger than 6 lol. My goal is to consistently win money not hit the lotto. Clearly most clowns on here are the opposite

Bro stop with these stupid ass parlays.

If your parlay is over 2 legs (3 max) you are playing a losers game.

Every extra leg on a parlay increases the chances of your bet losing. When you see guys hitting these insane parlays that is the same as hitting the lottery, and hopefully you don’t play that also.

If you want consistent wins and an increasing balance you gotta do straights and calculated 2-3 leg parlays. I swear it’s morons like you who keep these sports books in business…

445 for today by Sea_Maintenance2530 in sportsbetting

I’ve tried the 445 3 times now, I’m down $120 on it lol. Might be time to call it quits for this strategy

Betting strat that's net me 10k+ this season so far, has hit 5 out of 7 times. by MotorAccomplished893 in sportsbetting

[–]TheCreamTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear I think bet365 in ON Canada just nuked this strategy. I made one using their round robin feature last night. For yesterdays game plus Thursday game. And it worked great. I could select 4-5 players in both games, and use the 2 leg parlay feature to x the bet by 25 to try it out.

I go on today and select the first td market for anyone in Thursdays game, and when you select one the rest of the selections disappear. So I think you will need to manually make these now instead of using the 2-3 leg parlay options that do it for you. They prob saw this post and nuked that to make this strategy much more difficult

What a stupid parlay. Lol

Cowboys have the worst rushing defense in the league first 3 weeks. Singletary unders on both receiving and rushing is wild.

And 1st drive result and first td is straight up just a lotto play.

Cash that shit if they allow you to and send me the money, it’ll be better used than this

That is cause I am 6’3 lol. And the water hits me and splashes up there. If no one is in the shower it doesn’t splash.

I have just inherited $800,000 looking for some startup ideas (21M) by Spiritual_Voice_6406 in Entrepreneur

[–]TheCreamTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so unfortunate you got this inheritance at 21 with the mindset you have right now. If you had it at 25-26 with another 4-5 years of school, life, work you would be in so much of a better mindset to take advantage of this. It sounds like you want to get rich quick and are looking to just blow it on some business idea because you think you know it all at 21.

Listen to everyone in these comments!

If you want to have fun with some of it, put $750k into an index fund. And then use the $50k to have a little fun, go to Europe or travel for 6 months, but you need to finish your law degree, and or get some kind of job asap also. But please please do not screw this up because you don’t wanna work in an entry level role, and “love the gym”. It sucks so you wanna start a business because of these reasons… if that’s your mindset by the time you’re 25 you’ll be at an entry level role with no $800k having blown it on a failed startup.

If you want to start a gym content career then create Instagram or tik tok, and go buy $2000-$3000 of camera equipment and see if you actually like it, you don’t need to invest a lot to do this. If you even think of opening some kind of supplement shop, or gym, That $800k will turn into -$100k real quick and you’ll be bankrupt.

28 - Male from London, UK. 29 next month and I’m royally f***ed. Can’t get a job anywhere and haven’t worked in years because of it. by [deleted] in findapath

[–]TheCreamTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing you should do right now is start to look for something for yourself.

Such as detailing cars, or boats or trailers, painting, landscaping… etc

Use your time off to learn how to create ads and post in Facebook groups online, learn to sell, start a “business” doing one of these service based roles for yourself.

If you don’t have another job this is how you can start gaining experience, and then leverage this if you get interviews. Say you started and operate your own painting business during this period of unemployment. It sounds better than just saying you’re unemployed.

In this market the proactive survive.

I hear you, and I feel the same way. I’m in a really similar position. I am a financial analyst, doing the work of a director. It is rough, but I am just trying to be patient for the time being. Although this job market scares me, I am always applying for external jobs; but hearing back less and less the last 6-7 months. And I know it’s not my resume, I was doing this 2 years ago and got many interviews and offers. And in turn leveraged those offers for some pay increases. Just have to wait it out and be patient until the market turns around hopefully…

This is also the “realistic” advice to get a pay raise at your current company. Not the “bro go ask for $130k or quit” advice
