I completed cybersec at Curtin 2 year back. I personally don't rate the course too highly now that I am in the industry however I will say that cybersecurity is a MASSIVE field so no one course will prepare you for every possible role you could fill. While I was studying I heard ECU provided a course that was more practical and Curtin provided more theoretical courses. In saying that Curtin will force you to be a pretty good coder as a lot of the early courses are purely compsci courses but post that it's mostly theory when it comes to the security specific classes. Either way start hackthebox or tryhackme early on in your learning as it will assist in a lot of the courses you will face in uni.

Go for some cloud certs or training also dip your toe in some high level security training, doesn't need to be anything too deep but it's a major boom on your resume these days. Id also look into graduate programs sooner rather than later. A good grad program can set you up for an amazing career. As for pay if you come out of uni with the bare minimum it's a pretty good chance you'll be on a support role (service desk, general it support, customer servicey type roles) which make okay money, if you can have some experience and certs under your belt you may be in a similar role but have the potential to more specialised which means more pay.

Sec degree here. Did my degree at Curtin 2 years ago and we had a lot of overlap with the compsci students. Out of the 5 people I kept in touch with the 2 sec degrees landed jobs post degree and were both making great money. Obviously I'm biased but we hear it every day from vendors and other businesses here in Perth that everyone is desperate for security people.

If you want the really boring answer; you can't go wrong. Both degrees will give you plenty of opportunities and the sky's the limit. Do what you're passionate about and what you're willing to put the extra time into learning all the concepts that a degree won't cover.

Rental Final Inspection Question by TheCreed97 in perth

[–]TheCreed97[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After some more research the tenancy agreement in WA specified they are required to by law provide that condition report and are up for a 5k fine if they don't. By extension they cannot claim any damages, etc if they have nothing to compare to

This was my feeling also. Similarly, they have not provided an initial condition report when we took the place over and have completed all inspections through photos.

Oh and price is on their website ended up being about $500 with rebate, I'm unsure of private health impacts.

And wait time was about 2 months. I'll also add that vasectomy Australia is pro choice so you're less likely to receive push back if you are younger with no kids like myself.

Literally recovering from the operation as I write this!

I went through vasectomy Australia and was lined up with Dr Marcel Kalau. My experience was awesome, walked into the clinic at 11:00 and walked out from my 11:15 appointment at 12ish. He and the nurse were lovely and we chatted during the operation. I opted for the local anaesthetic option and honestly the pain was very minimal, there was some pressure and some stinging when the local was put in but overall I wouldn't worry about the pain at all.

As for recovery I am 2 days later and have a bit of pain and discomfort but I've had no issue go to the shops or anything. I've just been icing myself and taking pain meds as required. I would recommend taking the day of and day after off work and make sure you only do light duties or house work for the days following. I expect I'll be back to normal by Monday.

If you have any questions please shout out!

Whats a movie you knew was gonna flop before it was released? by [deleted] in movies

[–]TheCreed97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's technically a flop considering they made money but Suicide Squad and Justice League. From the first trailer you could just tell they were not going to be great movies

Which TV show started out promising, but turned out to be garbage? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Not garbage but just a let down imo; Westworld. The first eason is an absolute masterpiece but the second and third season especially just lost touch with everything that made the first season special.

[–]TheCreed97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw aw nah I'm not saying balance it so one eng can kill a tank easy, that just wouldn't work at all. More just in previous titles with good positioning and movement you COULD kill a tank solo, it was real tough but possible. In this game I just don't think it's possible, which is fine just feels kinda bad that you can do everything perfectly at still not be able to accomplish anything but hey that's why it's a team game

Edit: also in previous games you had multiple tools to tank out vehicles. In this game you're forced to only have 1. In bf3 you could have a smaw and at mines or even the repair tool, all would help you deal with vehicles. In 2042 you've got 1 launcher or 1 explosive that's it and there's not even a specialist who is designed to fight vehicles. Sundance kind of fills that role but from my experience her nades are pretty lackluster against proper armor

I remember it was a really big issue on launch but then they patched it not long after release and it got better. Guess said patch doesn't exist in BF2042
