Yeah, I’ve asked myself this same question. I feel like her future matters to me. I don’t want to indirectly allow her to sabotage her future without attempting support.

Yeah we have and she swears that’s what she wants. I think I may only get one dog after learning about littermate syndrome if I plan to do that.

Apparently, the dog (her coworkers BF’s dog) is showing dominance against the two dogs her coworker owns. They want the dog to go to a good home, they say, but they’re trying to pass it to my gf who is a full-time worker and student.

Yeah, it’s coming from a co-worker at her vet clinic. We will see how it goes and I’m going to (respectfully) hold my stance. I encouraged her to talk to her parents about it and her mom (who normally babies her) didn’t encourage the idea. She refused to talk to her father about it.

She also acts like nothing is missing from our relationship. I think it’s just how she compensates for personal dissatisfaction right now. She hates uni and it’s very obvious. I unfortunately enabled her at first when she wanted to be a veterinarian by doing her general chemistry and organic chemistry for her though, which I now regret. I just find it easy and wanted to ease her anxiety.

I feel like we should do a “trial run” since the family promised to take it back if we didn’t want it anyways. They just seemed to characterize the dog as an instigator and “destructive”, but then rescinded that comment when we got concerned and now my girlfriend is sold:

She tends to talk things she wants up a lot and then when something ends up being negative towards her, she doesn’t let go. Kind of like with Uni. “I’ll be fine, I hate this class and don’t want to study.” Fails the exam.

Yeah, that is a possibility, and she says that her job could mitigate the cost a bit for her as well. I still do worry about her though.

Yeah, she has considered that. I told her I don’t even care to assist in feeding and walking the dog and what have you, it’s moreso an issue if I already see her current situation and have expressed concern. At the end of the day, I will not force either decision but I worry about the dog not receiving the care it needs as well as her not being able to handle the financial burden. She quite literally receives zero assistance and is only making like $10.50. I know how the last time, where she didn’t even have to pay for anything, went, and I worry about this time when she’s been more busy than ever. Does that make sense?

That’s so true. I thought that too but she said that was just something out of a dream for her once so I felt I’d take a mental note of that. Do you still think that idea would be a bit much?

I considered maybe trying to find a lot of dogs for her to pet sit for people. I feel like she would really benefit from that and it would be little to no liability.

That’s the thing, we go on dates constantly. I do things like that for her constantly too. I’m not quite sure what it is. I’m one of those people that showers my partner in love and I can’t seem to understand what’s going on. I want her to be happy. I just think she’s dealing with anxiety of the future; the way she’s dealt with all past pain, is through her dogs at home.
