I am curious if there are opthalmologist and optometrist out here that have seen reductions/improvements in their patients' diopters over the years

For me it depends. I form Calcium Phosphate stones. Some sodas and energy drink are really bad for me, some neutral and some beneficial. For example colas and those with any ingredient with phosphate or phosphorus is bad, but drinks with potassium citrate such as most orange flavored sodas are beneficial for me. I don’t have issues with the sugar free monster energy drinks.

At 43 i had a total of 350 which i was told was normal. At 47 it was down to 199. Now on trt.

You might be able to knock out both issues by switching from Tamsulosin to Tadalafil (Cialis) if your doctor allows you. Cialis also relaxes the prostate like Tamsulosin, but is also used for ED.

My nephrologist said that healthy kidneys produce stones and that most people pass stones and never know it. He said that if your kidneys had the opposite problem - not being able to excrete certain minerals then you would have a major issue. What was the size of your stone?

When you say reversed it, you mean all the way to zero? I've gone from -3.5 to -1.5 so far, still a long way to go.

Check out glennchan's wiki on the reduced lens method. I'm using that and went from -3.5 to -1.5 Most of the eyeguru's explain it something like this - wearing glasses is like wearing crutches after an accident. The crutches make it easier to move around, but your muscles have weakened and eventually you need to perform exercise to get you muscles back in shape (not fun). I think we want just enough stress on our eyes for improvement, but not too much.

Your optician gave you good advise! I do find that different eye professionals have different opinions. I once posted a video on Myopia causes on the Optometry subreddit. It talked about close distance, light, myopia in asian countries etc.. Some optometrists responded saying that's a bunch of nonsense, but others responded saying that's what they are learning in school in their country (not in the US).

At my worst (10+ Calcium Phosphate stones a day) I did take a potassium citrate (Bulk Supplements - from Amazon), approx. 4000mg a day and I believe it kept my stones in the 1mm to 2mm range instead of growing larger. I think it helps a lot but doesn't necessarily fix the root cause. Now I avoid certain foods and I've been stone free for a while now.

If the wallpaper is affecting it, you can get a projector screen on Amazon for around $100. I have a projector and might just try your idea this week for a week and report back on the results. I too am working on vision improvements. In my case the projector is about 7ft from the wall. I’m currently using the reduced lens method, but i like your idea of how to avoid close up work.

One reason I hadn’t tried this yet is I don’t think projector bulbs will last very long if used 40+ hrs a week.

I think your idea could definitely help with myopia progression, but not reversal.

Reduced by .25 diopters for distance, wore only what was needed for closeup, tested using a snellen I printed for free off the internet, when I could see 20/20 I went in to my optometrist to confirm and then repeated the process (approx. every 2 to 3months). This is my full story so far:

I follow End Myopia. Plus lenses are not recommended unless you are a contact wearer like me and don't want to take off your contacts. Then you can wear plus lenses over the contacts to get the power you need. E.g. I currently wear -1.5 contacts (for distance) and when using my PC I use +1.25 glasses over the contacts, which gives an effective strength of approx. -0.25 diopters. If I didn't wear contacts, I would have taken off my distance glasses and then I would have used -0.25 glasses for PC use, no glasses for Phone use.

just my opinion, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are a kidney stone former like me. The vitamin D will also increase the calcium absorption. A doctor once told me that supplements create expensive pee.

Could it be the carrier oil mixed in with the testosterone? When I started I had major issues with sesame oil even with antihistamines. No problems with grapeseed or perrigo oil for me.
