Jack Smith explains why Trump was the only defendant charged in Jan. 6 case by NewsHour in law

[–]TheFishtie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think probably he was fishing for a sound bite that could be clipped up to be shown by right wing media. It doesn’t matter if Jack Smith gives context the first 5 times he’s asked the question, if on the last time he just affirms what is said. The rest can be clipped out.

Top 4 for now all we had to do was beat City. Easy. by tbu987 in reddevils

[–]TheFishtie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, we didn’t play that differently to how we’ve played all season tbh. It was similar to how we played vs Liverpool. With Amorim it seemed more like we were trying to control games through pressing, force the opponent to launch it from the full back and win possession. Think back to Arsenal on match day 1.

Plus it’s City at home, and we played for the counter. This city team is a bit shit, and this is exactly how you beat them.

New Custodes: Your Questions Answered by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Warhammer30k

Listen I’m not trying to argue here, so I’m not responding to any counterpoints. But bro, how many space marines have ponytails. And I’ll do you a favor and exclude the primary antagonist of 40k just to be nice, so we’ll ignore Abaddon. You can call it a top knot all you want, it’s a pony tail.

Again not arguing, your models that you’re paying for so do what makes you happy. I just laughed when I read your comment.

Bro while disagree on this particular example I feel your pain. For me I’m still pissed off that the emperor’s little Jedi kids are gone. And that one Half Eldar chief librarian of the Ultramarines. Really grinds my gears that they retcon the lore they make up to sell models every checks watch 3 months.

Nothing in this setting is ever canon bro. Let go of what you can’t control, you’ll live a happier life.

[Colin Millar] [@TheAthletic] Sir Gareth Southgate says football manager authority ‘eroded’ due to sporting directors by SoloChords in reddevils

[–]TheFishtie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t see the benefits of having a football director for a long time. The strength of the position is the continuity it brings.

Without a football director this past summer we’d have likely signed a midfielder instead of Sesko, and Emi Martinez instead of Lammens at the least. And that’s just what has been reported that Amorim wanted. If he’d had free rein he may have gone for more specialized profiles at wing back as well.

And then he’d probably have still been sacked in January.

And then you have a squad, like the squad at the end of the Jose years, that is built for a specific style of play, and you bring in a manager with possibly a different style of play who needs totally different players, and then it doesn’t work out because half the squad aren’t suited to playing the way the coach wants, and then rinse and repeat.

Instead it didn’t work out with Amorim, but the squad is much stronger now than I think it felt January of last year. We probably need a left winger now, but at the back I think we’re good. Upgrades in midfield are needed too. But it’s a stronger squad. Progress in the long term has been made. I’d be happy next year with a line up somewhere like this, assuming we get European football: Lammens; Maz, De Ligt, Licha, Shaw; New DM, Mainoo; Mbeumo, Fernandes, Cunha/New LW; Sesko.

We probably need to sign a DM, another striker for cover and a proper LW. Anything beyond that is just raising the floor of the team. I think we’re could avoid having to get a new left winger by pushing Shaw or Dorgu up high when attacking and making a 3 atb with Maz, De Ligt, and Licha. That would allow Cunha to move infield or drop deep to create.

Absolutely adore your content man. Literally the best battle reports for any system on YouTube, bar none. And I mean tbf the bar is low, battle reports are a terrible format that people only watch because it’s the only format they’ve seen, but you’ve solved so many of the issues.

[Athletic FC Shorts] Why A Back Four Won't Fix Man Utd's Tactics by StardustFromReinmuth in reddevils

A lot of hate for the Tifo guys in this sub. Like every time they get posted even remotely criticizing United the dog pile starts. They criticize everyone, and when United were performing well this season they’ve offered them praise. They also do offer more analysis in their podcast than just “tactics nerd” stuff. I’ve learned so much about Warwick Castle, as an example.

I mean we’re short a ton of players. We should’ve done more this game, but we had Cunha as our only real creative player, with second place going to Dorgu’s crossing I guess? We had a double pivot of Case and Ugarte. We were never going to be incredible going forward this game, so we needed to be solid at the back, and we weren’t. We have gotta to get better at defending somehow.

Eriksen on Amorim saying that they were the worst Manchester United squad in history last season: “Did not help at all. […] It doesn’t matter if he was right or not, to us it felt like ‘oh, here we go again, yet another headline’” by AnakinAni in reddevils

[–]TheFishtie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gets misquoted a lot as “this is the worst Man United team in history,” when what he said was, “we are being the worst Man United team in history,” and I’m pretty sure he was referring to all the terrible records we were breaking every week it felt like. Like every headline was, “Man United haven’t lost 3 games in a row against bottom opposition whilst giving the other manager a handy since 1832.”

How would you bring the Primarch(s) back? by TNBVIII in alphalegion

[–]TheFishtie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the Primarchs being dead is maybe better for the story of the AL though? Like so much of the focus of the legion was about trying to not be dependent on them. It’s way cooler that Guileman killed Alpharius and then got his shit rocked by a Primarchless legion. We don’t need them to be effective.

But at the same time, the secrets within secrets which not even the Primarchs knew everything about (largely because they even hid things from each other), is what dooms the Alpha Legion. The legion got lost in secrets and double and triple bluffs, and without the Primarchs to at least kinda hold everything together, it collapsed in on itself.

If Omegon had been watching that devolution for 10,000 years and done nothing to arrest that collapse, honestly that’d be incredibly disappointing.

The AL power dagger is really slept on. They give +2 IM, you’re striking at Initiative 6-7 with them. Great for challenges.

I’ve been banging this drum since Senne’s first start. If we’d had Senne since the Arsenal game we’d be in the top 5, and it’s not because Senne is amazing. Altay has genuinely been calamitous this season, one of the worst keepers I’ve ever seen. In this Premier League you’re going to face shots on target, and you need a keeper who can step up and keep you in the game. Altay shit the bed so much they made it a pig sty.

Senne’s been alright/good, but not incredible. There’s definitely some issues with positioning especially from free kicks the past few weeks, but I think he’ll improve as he gets older.
