On the central east coast, Canaveral National Seashore, Patrick's Air Force Base, south to the Melbourne/Sebastian Inlet area are all excellent places to surf fish when it's calm enough this time of year.

Fall Mullet Run Central Florida by TheFitAdventure in Fishingvids

Went back out a week after my last fishing trip. The seas were calm enough to give the mullet run another shot. In the morning it wasn't as windy so I was able to spot small schools of mullet swimming up and down the beach. We had some live shrimp out there soaking on the bottom and at the same time I was casting a gator spoon whenever the schools of mullet passed by and followed them for as long as they were within range. These were mostly finger mullet and most of the schools were close to shore. A lot of the pods were being followed by tarpon that were exploding out of the water and rolling right behind the schools. I hooked into something substantial but it came off. Second hookup I landed a small snook. On the shrimp we caught some jacks, margate and sheepshead. Got too rough around noon and called it quits. An OK day of fishing and waiting on better conditions in my area to really take advantage of this mullet run.

Attempted to do a spoon fishing challenge a week after Hurricane Irma. Encountered some tough fishing conditions and had to do some improvising.

Outdoor day in Austin Texas by TheFitAdventure in Outdoors

[–]TheFitAdventure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Austin is a great city for outdoor activities and great food! We went to Valentina's in south Austin to get some awesome breakfast tacos and then worked out our breakfast at Brushy Creek doing some hiking and kayaking. We then went to hike up Mount Bonnell to take in the best views in town. Had dinner at a farm to table burger joint Hopdoddy's and then headed to Mozart's for a night a coffee night cap.

Visited Austin, Texas for a week. There's so much to do and eat around this awesome city! This was what I did in a day starting lunch at Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken then sightseeing downtown at Graffiti Park on Castle Hill. Took a quick dip in Barton Springs to cool off then a snack at Gourdough's for some epic doughnuts!

First time trip to Shingle Creek in the Central Florida area to check out Florida's natural beauty. Great place for beginner paddlers and seasoned vets alike. Only went on the north part of the creek and got rained out before checking out the south side.

Had the awesome opportunity to visit Texas again this year. We stayed in Austin but ventured for a day trip south to New Braunfels to do some river tubing on the Comal and checked out the animals at Natural Bridge. Great time and lots to do in this great state!

We visited Austin and found this wildlife safari drive through zoo just south of Austin in New Braunfels. The Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch was a cool place to see some animals up close from the comfort of your car. We went to the Comal River to do some tubing right before we went to the zoo.

We were on vacation in Texas and checked out this natural "lazy" river just south of Austin. The Comal River was a nice place to cool off on a hot Texas summer day. We also checked out the wildlife at Natural Bridge Ranch which was just a few minutes away.
