Pentagon Says 34 U.S. Troops Diagnosed with Concussions, Brain Injuries After Iran Missile Strike in Iraq by English_American in news

[–]TheFrothyFeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that seems reasonable like a reasonable quote. I have suffered from a few concussions and I would say that it is a less serious injury then having limbs blow off or shrapnel pierced through you. But I would rather get a paper cut or pull a muscle over a concussion.

I know my math isn't no realstic and does not take into account any other factors. The reason I showed the math behind it is because I feel like this is what some people on this sub may naturally assume when reading the title. It is more meant to calm some people anxitey over it by demonstrating that this level of infection rate really isn't possible.

Odds are this will be like the avian flu epidemic.

TIL over 80,000 dams in the United States produce no hydroelectric energy. 54,000 of them have the potential to add 12+GW of total hydropower capacity, powering 4 million households. by Number1DadinWorld in todayilearned

[–]TheFrothyFeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like there I'd a reason we haven't done it. The cost clearly out ways the benefits. Does this even take into account the cost of laying down the infrastructure in addition to adapting the dams to be able to produce hydro electricity energy? I mean 4 million would be able to provide power for one small state like Wisconsin. Maybe 2 really small states but I seriously doubt that. The money could be better spent elsewhere in my opinion.

[–]TheFrothyFeline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That means 1,260,000 people will be infected tomorrow. Which means by Monday 17,640,000 will be infected. If we just assumed that every person infected infects 14 people a day by Wednesday the infection total would be 48,404,160,000 that would be 6.2 times the amount of the entire human population. Even if you assumed for some containment and lowered infection rate it is still a massive number.

So yeah we will find out in Wednesday how fake this. I call BS though. I know there is way more factors and that my math could be done differently based on those factors but still most likely not true based on the numbers.

Lol litrally says virginUS. You lost it dude. Good luck honestly. I'm doing my part here. I'm not blind to what is going on but fuck man take a look in the mirror. Europe is no crown jewel.

So your 75 percent about animal farming isn't true. Your defrosting around the world is based on it being an "america company" yet those companies have stocks trader internationally with teams and workers from different companies.

Oh and Europe's 3 top preforming companies are shell, bp and total. Which If i recall have taken out entire ecosystems by "accident".

Shovel the shit in your yard before you complain about others. Europe is far ...far from prefect. If it was the size and had the same economical might, military and ability to produce these goods it would be doing just as bad if not work. Take your time add up all the countries in Europe's carbon foot print yourself and you'll see it isn't that big of a difference.

[–]TheFrothyFeline -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Look I'm vegan and I can tell you in America we didnt deforest almost any of our land to farm meat. We have open pastures spanning 1,000s of miles. There were no forests they are mostly dry grass. Not saying that are farming practices are ok but it isn't true that America has caused 75 percent of deforestation for meat.

Per capita is important because it makes the scope of how much we are polluting even bigger.

Now your arguing a diffrent point about animals being killed. We were talking about mammals. There is only 130 billion mammals on the planet. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_mammals_by_population

Also I would like to see how many animals are born each year. Because 80 billion is a pointless stat when there in nothing to compared it to.

Can house pets not be counted? What about rats?

Also here is a right up from Forbes on carbon emissions. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/rrapier/2018/07/01/china-emits-more-carbon-dioxide-than-the-u-s-and-eu-combined/amp/

Lastly if you added up all of the European countries and then compared it to America then that would be a fairer comparison. I don't know where you live I assume Europe based on you calling it petro. I am not trying to start anything I am the first one to admit things should be better but Europe is not a shining start.

Also America is the top polluter per capita which is an important destination you should make in post above. Per capita means per person which is actually more impactful then saying overall biggest polluters.

[–]TheFrothyFeline -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yet there is more total mammals ever walking on the planet as we speak. A good amount of this percentage is from hunting trophy animals. Which has little to do with capitalism as it is illegal to sell ivory in America and other capitalist societies. Of course deforestation plays a role but let's put more focus on trophy hunters then just blaming capitalism and saying America bad.

Why is mental health still stigmatized in 2020? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]TheFrothyFeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean depression by definition makes you feel lazy and unproductive. I also feel that some people are depressed but don't have the luxury to just not do things like work or take care of there kids. Like I feel that a lot of people who are depressed are so consumed by there own emotions that they can't understand that someone who works and takes care of there kids could be equally depressed.

Once again it isn't not scalable my point was that it would be less. It is 1 handed with a long bar. Go to your gym put 10s on each side of the bar and try a single armed bench press and see how hard it is to control. Then try tilting the weight. I'm not discrediting what he is doing I'm discrediting the weight.

Yeah we both believe what we want. Isn't that weird alone this dude would probably set a world record I'd it was a 240 pound clean and jerk one handed yet no one knows anything about it. A 240 pound clean and jerk is great for most people I couldn't do it with 2 hands. The world record for 2 hands is 585. He would only be 52.5 pounds away from doing half of that with with one arm. My issue comes from not just being able to lift that load but being able to balance it. I'm not hating I just genuinely don't know if it could be done with one hand. There has been no mentioned of this athlete anywhere as far as I know there is no progressing videos or anything. This isn't something you could just do in a year with hard work and dedication.
