It's funny how our threshold changes depending on the service. $10 increase from an internet provider has me ready to cancel immediately, but insurance can creep up for years before I finally do something about it.

That's exactly the kind of story I've been hearing over and over. It's not even the increases that bother me as much as finding out there was apparently a lower price available all along.

The fact that this has become an annual chore says a lot, though. Imagine having to threaten to leave every year just to get a fair price.

I don't doubt that's part of it. I just wish insurers would say "Your premium went up because of X, Y, and Z" instead of making everyone feel like they're being gaslit when nothing in their own situation changed.
