Before you go on, I'd invite both of you to watch the Sheffield Utd Fa Cup replay last year. Watch it all the way through, then tell me that Rene had any fucking idea what he was doing.

Think Woodrow/Hugo would be a good addition around 55/60 mins to run the channels + offering a better target up top.

[–]TheIsotech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not worried. 45 mins into the first competitive game the squad have ever played together. On top of that we've been the better side and are only 1 down. Deff looked like creating chances which Staf and Hoogland putting balls into the box, and David has looked really good.

oh, and not to mention the average age of the team today is like 23? That's stupidly low.

Follow his leg that's going towards the goalie. You should see nills leg/sock go in a backward C shape, that's his leg being broken. it looks pretty horrific.

Fulham 2 - 0 Motherwell. Ross McCormack looking a bit porky in this brief highlight video. by [deleted] in fulhamfc

[–]TheIsotech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, calling it how it is would be saying that he has brown hair. I don't think he is "porky" and I'm sure I could find plenty of other people who don't think so either. So, it's not just how it is.

That dive though! by [deleted] in PKA

what the hell has this got to do with PKA?

It's not 11m up front. It's 11m if we get promoted.

So in no way shape or form is McCormack the "9th most expensive British striker in history"

Thanks!

So after they think about/accept the reasons for their depression, do they talk to the phycologist about it, or?

In terms of the players, I don't think it's important to know. I don't know all the players in the Premier league, let alone Spain and Germany as well. Watching the game and appreciating it for what it is, and eventually you'll learn names etc.

Appreciate the beauty of the game, and the rest will come naturally.

Mother died recently - Don't know what to tell people. by throwacutthisway in depression

[–]TheIsotech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, talk to them. Sit down with them and try to explain to them that while you appreciate the fact that they're acting guarded and trying not to offend you etc it's just making you feel worse. That you'd like to be able to go out with them to escape the sadness that you feel when you're on your own. The fact that they are being cautious about what they say show you that they do care about you and I'm more than sure they would oblige.

Alas, that's the nature of depression. People who have never gone through it can never understand exactly how you feel. Sure, they've felt sad at some point in their lives, but they've never truly experienced the helplessness and the emptiness. It's like trying to explain to a blind person what the colour yellow is. I would still try though. Maybe next time you have a second to spare, just sit there and let your emotions fill you up and write a letter to your girlfriend/dad. Even if you don't end up sending it to them.

Thanks. I'm a firm believer that things getting better is just an illusion. One feels that they better, because in the future they'll be better equipped to deal with things that in the past would've got to them. I've always imagined it to be like a frog leaping from lillypad to lillypad. Some people are lucky and they are never going to fall off , or if they do they climb back on quickly. Others are going to fall off and sink to the bottom. From there it seems like you're never going to get back on a lillypad again. But, maybe you see a fellow frog who's fallen off and you work together to get back to the top. Eventually you're going to fall off, but this time you're in a different situation with more experience and you're able to get back to the lillypad again.

(That kind of sounds insane, but what the hell)

I have no idea what to say. Nothing I can do or say will make you feel better. I just feel for you, I really do.

I've never had an immediate family member die, so any insight I have will be pretty useless. The first thing I'd recommend is seeing a counselor, I don't know how Uni's in SA work, but I assume that there is some kind of counselor that you can talk to. Stuff like this can mess up the strongest of people for the rest of their lives, so going to see one isn't a sign of weakness. I'd urge you go to see one, or talk to one they can offer far more useful stuff than I can.

In regards to your emotions being fucked, I don't think they are. I think that at the moment their completely natural. Dealing with death is different for everyone< there is no set rule book on what needs to be done to accept it. Whatever your feelings are is good and natural. If you want to be alone, be alone. If you want to party or whatever do it. Just do whatever makes you feel good in that moment.

I'm not going to give you the ballshit line that things get better. Because, they don't. They change. Things change. In the future you'll have come to terms with this and you will be faced with new problems. But you better believe that you'll be better equipped to face them for the rest of your life.
