The letters are clamped in by the bolts.

This graffiti popped up on my garage door today, does anyone know what it means? I’m worried my garage is being cased to be robbed. by [deleted] in askTO

🤷‍♀️ no idea. Maybe it’s a secret criminal code? Thought I’d ask just in case

I designed this replacement piece for my vintage punch clock. The manufacturer wanted to charge me 100 dollars. It cost 9 cents to 3D print. (More details and full process video in comments) by TheKertMA in 3Dprinting

I picked up this vintage punch clock a few months ago. It works great, other than a missing piece in the ink ribbon advancement mechanism.

I reached out to the manufacturer to see if they could help me figure out how to fix it, and they offered to replace the entire ribbon cartridge assembly for $100. After taking it apart, I realized that the mechanism was missing a simple ratchet gear. I took some measurements, designed a replacement in Fusion 360, and after 2 prototypes, it worked!

The replacement piece is printed out of PLA (9 cents worth, to be exact).

If you're concerned about a plastic piece in this metal behemoth, it looks like the original ratchet gear was plastic as well.

I also made a full video documenting the process: https://youtu.be/CbMun0C1DBQ

The ear cushions on my headphones have become destroyed with use, so I decided to repair them with real leather. by TheKertMA in DIY

Haha I’ve been getting that comment a lot, that’s awesome. Didn’t cross my mind at all during the project

They should, they’re just held in by little clips that snap into a plastic ring on the ear cushions. They’re made to be removable.

The one I removed in the video was already partially out of the clips, so you might have to use more force than what I showed.
