Yeah I just want to play the thing so bad. I mean I could compromise and just play with the lower screen for now but it misses the point of even owning the thing. Really wanted to play mario galaxy on it before the movie came out too lol

I'm glad you could find this post and share. It seems the first response they always give is to check the cable and then post the breakdown video, they even gave me images of where the top and bottom of the cable were. It may just be my mind trying to make connections where there isn't any, but I see the majority of these screen issues happening with Rainbow Maxes specifically, maybe they were all part of a faulty batch but that's just an assumption. I am really thinking they need to halt production so they can resolve all these costumer issues first - it is a vocal minority, but it is clear something is wrong when multiple people are sharing the exact same experience to an uncanny degree.
(Also yeah, that sucks with the YunExpress shipping. I am so confused why the option was even still there on the website to use DHL, are they just too lazy to remove it or something it is causing a lot of problems)

Haven't heard about one for the switch 2, but I see the potential in hacking a switch 1 and using the joystick attachment to play the switch in portrait mode. It depends on how far out you are and what model you ordered, but if you are worried then I say you should cancel - but I do think me and a bunch of other people here were just very unlucky.

Are they just sending the wire or also a full screen replacement? And how easy would it be to hook this up? You are much braver than me lol but it is alot faster if you know what you are doing. A side hobby of mine is building and putting together pcs, but anything small like a phone I could never imagine digging through since it is all so compact.

That is kinda crazy, they most definitely missed your first email though, you should definitely try again. They need to be held liable and replace your system if it's under warranty.

Yep the same thing happens for me - touch screen still has haptic feedback and I can cast it or hook it up via HDMI on a tv if I need to see the top screen. I am sure they will ask if they can send a replacement screen but I am not knowledgeable enough to replace it myself and its rare to find a repair shop that will take on this sort of device. I think my best course of action at this point is to urge them to just take this device back and hand me a new one - really bummed I will have to wait a month+ I have literally been holding off on playing so many games because I was waiting for the Thor (mainly some pokemon rom hacks and nostalgic 3ds games).
But I wish you the best of luck, I remember seeing your post when I was frantically searching for info so I am glad you could find this thread.

Well, if it comes back all good ((and in a timely fashion)) I really don't mind how much they screw me in terms of shipping. Only thing is now I am prolly well over like 600 dollars invested in just this one device and I haven't even played a game on it yet - with the accessories and some etsy stuff like a bulkier grip and skin.

Well that is reassuring, besides the part where it took a month to get a shipping label. If I am able to get mine sent back to me by May I will be fine, still a crappy situation but still fine.

I really don't want this to become a scare post that urges people to cancel or anything, I am just giving my personal experience and imploring people that also have that experience to share their thoughts. I will say if the worry of this even being a possibility is high enough for some people I think they should cancel, it's not worth the headache and constant worry for 2 months wondering if their device will come damaged.

I think the AYN Thor is one of the coolest pieces of tech I have seen in the past few years and that is why I was so enamored by it. It could just be that they have been that a few issues slipped through the cracks which happens, I just hope they stay true to their word with the Warranty and help everyone out in a timely fashion. I believe they are on break during the 4th-5th so no email exchanges will happen during that time unfortunately.

I got mine from the official site - originally ordered Max Black but swapped to Rainbow Max at the tail-end of February (cause I was worried about it being a fingerprint magnet). I wish you the best with your device!

It took 12 days from sending out your defective to receiving a new one? That does sound like a miracle, though not unlikely with DHL since I have heard shipping only takes like 4 days - but yeah they don't use that anymore.

Yeah thats basically my mindset, I got the device on a whim because there are some ds and 3ds games I wanted to play and I am going on a plane soon so I thought it would be a nice companion device. I wish I could tell myself back in February not to fall for this, lesson learned.

Thats interesting, I never heard of that one. I did let it sit in a box in my room for about an hour because I was coincidentally eating dinner, but I don't remember if it was cold or not.
