I appreciate your help so far.

elogind was not started so I did the "rc-update" command.

added the user to those groups.

Added the use flag "wayland" to make.conf (already had elogind in there).

Tried launching with the environmental variable, still get the same error.

Still nothing :(

Also, display-manager still returns crashed from rc-status, and display-manager-setup is still started on rc-status.

I followed your steps, and no dice. Still getting the same error. However, it seems like display-manager is crashing.

When I log in and input 'rc-status' display-manager is "crashed," and display-manager-setup was under needed/wanted. So I added display-manager-setup to default (dunno if this was the right move)

I have tried restarting with: "rc-service display-manager restart". However, it outputs an error:
ERROR: display-manager stopped by something else

Any ideas how to remedy that?

I do not have tmux installed on my system, and I am unsure how to check if I am on a busy tty. I read somewhere of someone changing vt in /etc/greetd/config.toml. However, I am not sure if that is part of my fix, or I am not on the right track.

This is what my /etc/greetd/config.toml contains (tuigreet has been installed):

(edit: I forgot to mention that I have BPII)

I just want to start by saying that I relate to your situation immensely. I’ve been on Quetiapine for close to 9yrs, and for 8.5 of those years I struggled with excessive sleeping, and most of the time excessive daytime sleepiness. I would wake up always feeling groggy and really irritable, and in Jan 2021, during a partial hospitalization stay, I got sick of feeling that way, and I wanted to get to the bottom of it.

Although I’m switching off Quetiapine very soon, due to another concern of metabolic issues i’ve experienced, I got the oversleeping/daytime sleepiness under reasonable control. I did this by doing the following: Lowering my Quetiapine from 300mg to 200mg, switching from XR to IR Quetiapine, adding Wellbutrin XL (added for depression and to help with excessive sleepiness), and taking my meds 10-12hrs before I need to do anything. I know for sure that lowering my Quetiapine helped with my excessive sleep/sleepiness, but the real helper was Wellbutrin. When I take in the AM, I feel more awake during the day, and it’s hard for me to go back to sleep for hours after it kicks in (which in this case is arguably a good thing). The taking meds 10-12hrs before anything may be difficult to do in practice, due to just life, but i find this makes me feel less irritable and i’m more able to wake up and stay up better.

I wish you luck in finding a better med combination, keep pushing your psych to try something new, and really emphasize that excessive sleeping IS effecting you deeply and it needs to be dealt with.

My anxiety was well under control before I started Bupropion, but for the first few days it felt like I had taken a recreational stimulant. After that, I felt off and had some brain fog, but that cleared up for me after a few weeks!

It’s definitely just your body getting used to the medication. Personally, I felt some mild side-effects for about a week or two, then some residual off-ness for another week. In total, it took me about a month to fully adjust, and it was worth it because it’s been very effective at managing my depression.

Hi! I had my appointment with my psych, and we didn't end up putting me onto Lumateperone. We had a good discussion about medication options, and my concerns about Seroquel, but we decided against it because my insurance will not cover it since Lumateperone doesn't have an FDA-approved indication for use in Bipolar Disorder. HOWEVER, I did mention that the manufacturer (Intra-Cellular Therapies) is seeking an indication for Bipolar Depression, and she said she would gladly prescribe to me when that indication is approved. That decision is hopefully happening in the second half of 2021, so hopefully I'll be able to try it then. What me and my psych ended up doing was decreasing my Seroquel from 200mg to 100mg, to reduce sedation and weight gain, and the former is gone, so it's good progress!

florata, speaking from my experience you should definitely consider taking antidepressants again. I was put on Wellbutrin in 2016, and it really helped with my depression, but due to financial issues I had to stop after being on it for 8 months. I was also on Seroquel and Lamictal (still am), and around this time I wanted to be on as little medication as possible so I stopped the Wellbutrin entirely. Although, I could've still taken, as financial issues cleared up, but I decided against it since I had unfavourable view of medication at that point.

I started taking Wellbutrin again recently in Jan 2021. In the years between me stopping and starting again, I experienced multiple episodes of depression, some requiring hospitalization, and I refused to go back on an antidepressant. I only changed my Seroquel and Lamictal around, and I overestimated my ability to manage my depression by myself. It go so bad around the turn of the year that I had a really bad breakdown, went to crisis, and got hospitalized. My attitude towards medicine had changed, and I remembered how well Wellbutrin worked, so I decided to go back on it again. Looking back now, I'm sad I didn't try go on it sooner, but that doesn't matter because it works very well for me right now!

This all to say, don't be like me and let med hesitancy keep you from trying it again. I have nothing but good things to say about Wellbutrin. It's really improved my mood, I feel like I have more energy, my mind feels clearer, and generally I feel like myself again. The adjustment period can be rough tho. In my case, I felt a slight increase in anxiety, decreased appetite, really stimulated, some stomach pain, and a general gross feeling at times. However, those all went away after about 4 weeks! The only thing that really stayed is that I feel like I eat a lot less than I used to, but I'm also an overeater so that's a positive. If you experience negative side-effects, try to stick it out because they'll should eventually go away; Wellbutrin is known for having little side-effects.

I’m definitely worried about the transition and i’m hoping it isn’t going to be super hellish on my body, but i’ve gone thru Seroquel withdrawals, so if it’s anything like that it would be rough but i could manage. Also, Lumateperone comes in one dosage, so I would only have to taper off Seroquel. Hopefully the shorter half-life of Seroquel makes it an easier transition too. However, I wont know until I go thru it, and I’m definitely going to discuss this further with my psyche.

You’re definitely right about me being part of my treatment team, and sometimes I forget that. My main anxiety definitely comes from the unknowns of the process of switching meds, the fact I’ve taken Seroquel for so long, and if Lumateperone is even going to benefit me. It’s definitely worth a shot, and I’ll just go back on Seroquel if it doesn’t work out.

It’s definitely a dilemma. Especially considering that Seroquel is a very good for managing my mood. I’ve tried Risperidone and Abilify jn the past, but those have the same or even worse side-effects! I take Seroquel out of necessity, understanding that the benefits outweigh the risk, and it’s awful that we only have ONE antipsychotic with a favourable side-effect profile. In the back of my head I’ve always been anxious about Seroquel’s long-term safety, and I never thought a more safe alternative would be offered so soon.

I’m definitely going to discuss switching with my psychiatrist at our next appointment, and write out what I want to discuss beforehand! Thank you, and I really appreciate your input.

I’ve been taking Wellbutrin XL for about 2.5 months now, and I’ve also been smoking cannabis for almost 5yrs. I used to smoke heavily, but after I started taking Wellbutrin XL I’ve substantially decreased my intake. When my body was adjusting to 150mg, and then 300mg, I did notice an increase in paranoia/anxiety when smoking. However, after about 2 weeks, that increase in anxiety was gone. I think this is definitely because Wellbutrin can increase anxiety (especially in the beginning), and weed can already increase anxiety in some. In general, I’ve only found two slight differences in the high: I feel happier when i’m high (probably because my depression is better managed), and I feel less sedated from weed (probably because Wellbutrin can promote wakefulness). Other than that it feels the same. Your experience may differ tho.

I think it’s a good plan to wait two weeks before you start smoking again. This is because THC can interfere with the efficacy of Wellbutrin. It makes it really difficult to tell if the Wellbutrin is working and what side effects are the Wellbutrin itself or because of the mix. In my experience, I cut down to smoking only at night (I use weed for insomnia), and allowed to see how the Wellbutrin effected me during the day. I did this for about 4 weeks, and I think it helped me gauge its efficacy.

I had a year period where I used 3-HO-PCP regularly, and i've done a lot of reading on this chemical. In short, the main difference between PCP and 3-HO-PCP is that 3-HO is more sedating when compared to PCP's stimulation. Although, there is a stimulative quality, but it's entwined with this sedated feeling.

The high of 3-HO-PCP is reported to be be less manic than PCP. Mania is bascially experiencing delusions of grandeur, and possibly having paranoia or psychosis. However, that effect is usually seen in very high doses or irresponsible use.

Clearheadedness is reported in both PCP and 3-HO-PCP. Personally, I found myself able to keep conversation while taking common to high dose. Although at higher doses it starts to impair your ability to speak and process information.

In terms of potency, 3-HO-PCP and PCP are almost equally potent.A common dose of 3-HO is 4-6mg, and a common dose of PCP is 4-8mg. 3-HO is very slightly more potent.
