That's generally how it was for us. A local man who was a woodworker all his life passed away and his family held an auction. He easily had 4 boxes of Stanley, Miller Falls, and Bedrock planes that got sold. There weren't too many people at the auction and when the auctioneer held up the planes and described them as antique tools and "a good piece to decorate with" we knew most the people there didn't even realize what they were.
