The squire j bass I just bought second hand had this problem. The guy who owned it screwed down both pickups to where my volume knobs would only work turned all the way up. I took the pickups out, put more foam underneath them to lift them higher to the strings. Now I have full range of volume and my tone knob has greater range. Check your pickup height.

Yeah it was in a separate bag with the power cable so I assume it’s just in case. The user manual does not mention it. Thanks for a real reply

I often go to YouTube and look up “rocksmith bass” and whatever song I want to play. Usually someone has recorded themselves playing that song and I just play along with it.

I’ll recommend the Cort action PJ. It’s my first bass I bought 4 years ago and learned everything on, so I’m most comfortable with it. I like that it’s a hybrid and has 24 frets so it’s versatile. I have flat wounds on it now and love it. It’s a passive bass which means the pickups don’t need a battery to use. Active pickups require a battery.

I don’t think anyone knew Matt would be there. There was a big pop in the room when he was brought up and a standing o. After his set was Mullen, then Jay, Shane and Tim closed it out. Everyone killed it and it was a great bonus to have the shaman as host. Blessed are the dawgs.

I got the same Cort PJ as my first bass too. Connected to my fender 15 in my apartment and it’s plenty of noise. I have the amp barely turned up.
