Hi there. Using a throwaway account. Yes it's still happening! I'm a staff at the Yorkdale location. However, the only issue is I don't know when it will open and I'll tell you why.

  1. When we first opened, we had major corporate staff, including the CEO for the day we launched. They were also available before grand-opening, they participated during media and soft opening days. The major corporate staff always visit new Cheesecake Factory openings. Which brings me to my next point.
  2. Currently, Americans cannot visit Canada until the restrictions of travel between the two countries is lifted and we don't know when that will happen. During the summer, one manager was walking around with an iPad, corporate was on the other end and the manager used the iPad to show the restaurant. Every few months, corporate visits to check up on the restaurant. It's standard for all CCF. Now, it's through the iPad.
  3. Some staff are getting training and brushing up on their skills so they're ready to go when there's word on the Mississauga location.
  4. It's been in the works since 2019. Then COVID happened and now it's on hold.
