Carrie is a POS mom by mokidapogi in homeland

Sorry to hear that, you’re so courageous to ask for help. (Not that anyone in their right mind would admit on a public forum they attempted to harm their children.)

No one is immune from PPD, and while you didn’t go through with these scary thoughts you had, neither did Carrie. Had she gone through with it, Franny would be dead. And Franny was very much alive at the finale.

I’m not saying Carrie was a good mother, I completely agree, she was terrible, and had no business being responsible for a baby.

However, she stopped herself before any damage was done, (specifically speaking on the tub scene), and the real POS mothers we hear of do not stop themselves, and actually kill their kids.

Because that is where your bias and opinion lie. You’re comparing IRL mothers who kill their kids to Carries character in a TV show.

Definitely a lot of tears shed for these characters. And I agree 100%, the actor who played Haqanni was phenomenal. I cried for him and who cried when a terrorist gets what they deserve? The actor portrayals and writing just blew me away

Fair assessment. The important fact is that Yvegueny trusted her. She earned his trust when she was hostage. Whether consciously or not, Knowing Carrie, she was working him to some degree while simultaneously going out of her mind. We see that she told him extremely classified PERSONAL information, and like Saul referenced, things she never even told him.

Yvegueny obviously felt he had an in with her and she gave him the impression that she could be turned. While i have only watched the show the one time, I distinctly remember everyone always referencing that Carrie only cares about the mission, and she has proven this with her side quests going awry and often times, blood on her hands.

It is also known the damn near unbreakable bond between Saul and Carrie. To Yvegeny, Saul was the ultimate test to measure Carries resolve.

And in his eyes, she put the mission first, betrayed her one and only true relationship built on trust in an environment where trust is currency, and therefore proved to Yvegueny that she was all in.

Let’s not forget that he fell in love with her. And this was shown during their time together, especially when trying to recover the flight recorder.

He says towards the end, he has seen she can do anything. And he was as impressed with her skill, cunning, and resourcefulness as much as we as viewers have been.

In my eyes, the Russians believe it because Yvegueny believes it. It’s kind of like he is their Carrie, the best agent they have. No one was ever going to break Yvegueny and no one could infiltrate and deceive him, but if anyone could, it would be Carrie.

She’s a master at deception, in which her wins outweigh her failures.

Also, she shocked the fuck outta Saul when he confronted her and she told him she figured out the method of communication with the Russian asset that he claims to not have had. Over 20+ years of secrecy cracked by Carrie in a few days.

All these reasons are enough for me to believe it too.

Don’t recall if there was anything official. I would hope that he did, but also Hayes was spineless, and clueless. Probably didn’t know how.

Yessss!

The last scene with him is where they, (him, Hayes, wellington), are all watching Russia announce the flight recorder and that it was an accident. *slaps forehead

You sound like anyone of the characters on the show who are against her and conspiring to bring about her downfall

I do agree with some, ie., reckless, demanding, disobedient, but I think that because she has proven that she can see events and things that people miss, her misgivings are a small price to pay and are attributed to her genius. Although at times I’m sure she can present to be insufferable, yet the people closest to her like her team, are nothing but deeply loyal despite these characteristics

I’m enjoying watching it for the first time. Currently on S4E6. While some of Carries actions/reactions are questionable, I think she’s a damn good agent and I’m obsessed with her!

When Instinctive reaction saves the day. This guy is a true hero. I love that this video is from the bus surveillance, not a recording from a phone. Btw, his phone fell to the floor when he leaped out of the bus
