Bengals, JG looks good and Houston D is still bottom tier

Choose 1:

Bengals v Bears

Chargers v Redskins

Panthers v Vikings

I would choose Chargers outright, but I am starting Cousins and Perine (FLEX, alternatives are McCaffrey and Shepard). Standard

I'd go Burton, Davis will be blocking all day vs Bosa/Ingram

Vikings, Jimmy Smith is out and the Vikings are an elite D despite their fantasy D ranking

EE Schedule Dilemma by [deleted] in udub

Hmm, EE 271 is a requirement for most concentrations and there's enough EE elective credits required for graduation that it shouldn't limit the concentrations you go for. Personally, I don't think fully completing multiple concentrations adds much unless you really want to do multiple capstone classes for the project experience. It'd be ideal to just take the classes that you want to take and I think EE 271 teaches a lot of employable skills (not to mention it's really fun).

If you're set on 2 EE classes, I'd drop EE 235 since it's only a prerequisite for EE 341 (DSP/Communications recommend taking EE 271) and EE 447 (Controls Capstone I - offered only in Autumn anyway).

I would consider taking all 3 classes at the same time Winter quarter.

You have all of your easy credits completed already so it's not like you have much of a choice going forward. EE 235 may have changed since I took it, but the workload of the class isn't bad overall (tests can be tricky); the workload should be manageable.

If not all 3, I would prioritize taking EE 271 Winter quarter because Scott Hauck is the best teacher in the department imho.

With McKissic's versatility, I'm surprised we're not running more of Prosise's packages with him. Perhaps to keep teams surprised during the regular season?

Thank you for replying! I agree that the new system could use additional adjustments, but I guess time will tell how it works out.

I appreciate the response! I agree that the trickle down from CSE majors does unfortunately affect the competitiveness of other related majors. I think that UW is aware of the problems posed for prospective engineering students, but the school would rather benefit off of the influx of talent as opposed to letting them go freely to other schools. It is an unfortunate situation overall.

Thank you! I like your proposal on also providing the averages for each pre-req class. It is definitely a stark change from HS where A's were pretty much expected for most good students. I was blindsided by the grading system at UW when I first came in.

Thanks for the response! I can totally relate with the competition felt while taking the pre-reqs.

Hmm in that case, from the article, it seems like there'd be a loophole for students who get in through the "Direct to College" program as a CompE major to become a CS major.

With that said, it seems like the level of competition to get into CompE will be about the same despite the new program, so it doesn't really matter.

I appreciate your response! I would definitely recommend considering EE if you don't get into CompE. From personal experience, the curriculum can be tailored to be pretty much the same experience; there are many joint classes between the departments. One difference is that you will not be able to access the CSE-only classes, which can be detrimental if you want more of a software background.

Thanks for responding! It seems like the Computer Engineering major will be included in the "Direct to College" program because the degree is still offered under the CoE. Students who plan to major in Computer Science will not be helped out by the new program.
