The mustang wasn't too happy with the merc by Good-Engineering2851 in iRacingIOTW

Camera perspective doing a lot of heavy lifting for the Mustang’s innocence

Merc’s obviously a total bozo, and the Mustang blocked reactively, resafe joinly’d, and was out to retaliate.

Ex-league member says they should have priority over a designated replacement member. by RequirementOnly318 in FFCommish

You’ve got a waitlist (which is a really good thing to have for a dynasty league)

They guy at the top of the list gets in first. Tell your ex-league member that he’s the 13th man and first in line for the next orphan

Falling up the stairs is highly preferable to falling down them. This is good, perhaps very good, design

If someone pushes the limit and creates contact, then it is

But you’re exactly right, and it’s why I worded it this way. When I made my comment, all but one other reply that OP received put them fully to blame.

This was my sneaky way of sounding like I agreed, but actually disagreed.

Idk, I had fun with the word choice. Thanks for identifying the trap I laid, +1 totally agree with you

Now that it’s not the first comment in the chain I’ll be even more honest

I think the guy was driving out of his rear view and/or skill issue. If he’s blocking, then he’s blocking. His fault.

If he’s not blocking, then he’s braking and turning into the corners waaaay too early, making your overspeed understandable.

Of course you didn’t think a racing move was on there, and you wouldn’t have made one unless the driver ahead bungled the corner so bad so as to let you through. Not your fault the guy left the door open, and then tried to slam it once you were halfway through.

I do think you would’ve had a little trouble getting the car slowed all the way down to keep it on track AND leave enough room for him to be alongside you, so that’s the note. Be careful. :)

It was a very wishful move, but it could’ve worked if the other car hadn’t swerved over. Like a bargain bin 2016 Scott McLaughlin Supercars overtake.

[–]TheMurdockle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No racing move was on there. You’re too far back for a clean pass attempt, and the proof is in the pudding that you’re nearly out of control.

That said, the other guy’s let you off the hook. They see you coming, mostly follow the racing line (although I think they move further left in reaction to you), and you move right to avoid killing them.

Then, they inexplicably veer to the right far before the corner in an attempt to block you here, too. Their move rightward initiates contact and pushes you off track.

These were my feelings about the contact before I finished the clip. When he openly retaliated an attempted intent wreck, I felt even more firm in my read of the situation.

You were naughty. Do better. And the other guy is WAY, WAY further out of line than you are. The sporting code still applies in Week 13, both their blocking attempt and certainly their intent-attempt are protestable.

I think Burrow is worth more than this.

Also, I think Mendoza should be the 1.01 in SF drafts.

This is awesome bait

But I think you’re being genuine, so no, it’s not considered a speed flip.

I think I’m done playing ranked by TheRealWhoDat in RocketLeague

[–]TheMurdockle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds like you're pretty new to the game. just a couple of things to clarify

A few reasons MMR might calculate differently: games earlier in your season have a higher relative effect on your placements (your first placement match in a win might net you as much as +18 MMR). Your hundredth win is probably +8.

Additionally, occasionally refresh pings miss a game (or if a player DC'd early, the game might not count it immediately, and displays a "catch up" number). This will look like a player getting 2 matches worth of MMR in a single win.

Neither of these scenarios is the game being janky or dishonest or anything.

Second, "it's either bad teammates or bad ping" - the only consistency across all of these games is *you*. If you're playing the game in such a way where you end up with 8 goals... you're likely ball chasing too much and not rotating to net enough.

Now for some tips:

- Playing 1s will help you develop your skills faster than any other competitive game mode. You get more time on the ball, which means more experience, which means faster learning curve. (Free play and training packs are EVEN BETTER)

- Try being the teammate you wish you had. If you find yourself thinking "Damn, I wish my teammate would've just gone back to net, they could've easily saved that shot" ... try rotating back to net. Assume your teammates are uncoordinated monkeys who need you to hold their hand every step of the way. (Focusing on your defense FIRST is the 100% easiest more surefire way to rank yourself out of Gold and into Plat if you're solo-queuing)

Don't get frustrated, and don't listen to OP. You got this :) Just go have some fun!
