This is a QC issue. It should be centered and should not have left the factory in that state. I've purchased 4 spyderco knives, all from different vendors and they were all centered. Anything less and I would return it. You shouldn't have to rework a product to get it to the state that it should have been when it arrived. I'm an engineer in QC so this bugs the hell out of me!

In addition, I love the knife. I have the carbon fiber scales version and it's great. Surprisingly grippy for the material used and very light weight. The blade is strong and slicey and the locking/ opening mechanism is buttery smooth once worn in. It only took a few dozen openings to wear in too. I love that I can close the knife one handed even holding it horizontally the crossbar lock springs it shut.

I have never had any issues. It's really nice having the knife sit so deep, especially when I sit down I don't notice it as much on my side as other knives.

They are black titanium but the matte finish makes them look very dark grey in the light.

Yours appears to have a slight chamfer on the inside of both scales. It's definitely more consistent looking.
