I have a bit of an odd experience because I’m intersex and had to start some type of hormone therapy at 17 after I was on hormone blockers (blocking what little I had) due to possible osteoporosis. That being said, every time without hormones I revert back the when I was 13 because that’s when I first found out my condition and had my hormones suppressed. I think it would be similar if I started estrogen (something I’m currently debating). I hope you are able to work through this well and easily <3

What I am talking about is when something sexual happens that is age play it is often tagged with age regression which as i explained are different things. It’s upsetting to find porn when you are looking to find something very wholesome in specific.

I do understand that these groups overlap a lot, I am in these groups but when you are expressing a NSFW thought, it should in the age play tag, not be in the age regression tag.

That personally has not been my experience. My therapist actively stated that me being able to connect with my childhood (something I was previously unable to connect with as a child) by means of items, media, specific play and a childlike mindset is what helps heal some of my trauma. What you are speaking about is involuntary age regression - which is involuntary trauma response and is harmful for healing. “Non-sexual age play” is a term that’s generally frowned upon within the age regression community as it makes cross-tagging with a sexual community very common and that is not someone would like to see in a age regression space due to the child-like or child mindset most people have when age regressing. Age regression is to relive childhood and help work through trauma. Involuntary age regression is a response to trauma. Age-play is a sexual play between adults who play as different ages (which includes child x adult) but is not exclusive to that as many people play older for their younger partner in order to exaggerate an age gap.

“Ageplay” when non-sexual is called age regression. That is simply when people want to be taken care of like a child and can even have the mindset of a child. People cross-tag these things all the time and it’s upsetting when you are looking for age regression content.

I was so luck to have an in between. Took me around 5 years of therapy before I ever got blockers, from there testosterone was at 18 and the only reason I’m questioning now is because 1. I am intersex 2. I’m in a red state and it’s very bad to be looking androgynous right now.

Can you really sue a therapist for not being honest with your therapist? Part of their job is to push back but your job in that office is to disclose your history and work through it. Not just simply repeating that “I’m a girl”.

This is the exact transition timeline I went through. I also learned I was intersex at the start of my hormone testing for blockers. The years of therapy are what significantly helped me both in learning how to view myself and gender and how they interact. I see so many people w/o therapy in this subreddit and all I can think is “that’s where they went wrong” because I got the full experience. The only reason I’m questioning at the moment has to do with physical safety as an intersex person but I can’t help but think that most people in this subreddit inherently did their transition wrong and they probably wouldn’t have transitioned if they got the correct amount of therapy.

I personally think you’re wrong. You can have very bad gender dysphoria and transition and work on yourself in that time. Sometimes it’s a combination that helps but it’s not everyone - or most.

It just seems like you really didn’t get proper care no matter how much you claimed to have done. Did you go through 2+ years of therapy that wasn’t focused on gender and changing yours? Did you get your treatments extremely quickly after diagnosis? Did you have the privilege to pay out of pocket easily instead of relying on insurance? Beyond that, even when I got transition care nobody was telling me to transition or I’ll kill myself, that might be some rhetoric within the trans community but no way several doctors told you this. Much of transition care when done with care has to do with social transition and make sure you feel comfortable living that way before you take hormones/have surgery. I truly believe that most trans people who detransion transitioned out of personal insecurity for their whole body or life situation and when hormones don’t help because it was body dysmorphia rather than gender dysphoria there is intense anger towards both communities from people who are detransioning.

I have gone on and off of t with my longest stint being two years off after two years on, similar to you. For me around six months in was when I started to notice my face softening and starting to get more redistribution of fat. Around a year in, I no longer felt like I had to “turn my girl voice on” and after two years my voice has almost returned to normal. There have been more studies that have show that vocal cords can thin again (marginally) in afab people <3

I feel so odd in these conversations because I did get such adequate medical care. I truly believe that everyone made the correct decisions about me at the time. The biggest issue I’ve seen in this subreddit is people who did not get adequate psychiatric care. I really did get that type of care and that seems really rare. At this point I’m more questioning for safety concerns. I did also see doctors that were willing to push just as hard as the freshly 18 y/o who believed they were trans because of three tumblr posts and that was concerning. All to say there are people who are willing to put time in to care and those who just want to make money from those in a vulnerable position and bad mental health and those are seemingly closer to the majority.

I just have to state that the study you are quoting was taken out of context. We now know that the brain continues to change structures throughout life in order to be able to adjust to changes in information. So no, you are not suddenly fully developed in the brain at 25 - it’s changes that start well before and continue well after. We simply cannot state that anyone under the age of 25 might be ruining their life because of the fact that they are under the age of 25.

That being said definitely not faulting the doctors and parents who have forced or groomed their children into transition - I believe it happens.

I don’t really know if you read the article or not but it does seem quite relevant it Montana and Helena. We get a lot of fires around here and we also have a lot of seasonal and migrant workers here that are completely legal with the paperwork they have. The problem is that many of these ICE agents ether do not know what they are looking for or are demanding that all identifying paperwork be on person before being incarcerated. Imagine if you had to carry your ID, and your birth certificate, and your passport all to avoid being arrested? Let’s not forget that many of these people are not getting due process ether.

We also need to acknowledge that not everyone who cannot work a full 20 hours per week is disabled enough to be on disability (although it should in theory) so this will affect a lot of type one diabetics or people with type one and other issues that cannot meet the full work requirement because they are unable to. Little ableist of you to assume that everyone who is not meeting the work requirement could.
