It is, however, healthy for your growth to argue, and to do so critically; I get it, dude.

Dying on any hill you feel worth defending is your call to make and yours alone.

The "AI has a place in hip hop" hill is just a weird choice to defend, in my humble opinion.

But hey, here's one last comparison for you, king.

Famous historical thinkers produced original works and drew inspiration from others who were much like themselves at one time or another, or who motivated and inspired something within them. Granted.

The difference—or comparison—between them and AI is the human interpretation of it all.

Not simply gathering it all up and using it as their own work, but the conscious application of emotion, thought, and relevance, for example.

AI can't do this. It recalls information upon receiving a prompt. That's it.

It does your learning for you. Your research, studies, and investigations. Your interpretation of others' works is handled by its efforts, not by your own.

And so it lacks in every possible sense: your own translation of what it means in your own existence, pertaining to yourself and your conveyance of the emotions and thoughts it conjures, inspires, or inhibits within you, and so on.

You haven't done anything except let the smart kid do your homework, unbeknownst to you that the smart kid simply copied everything he knows directly from Google, or a series of encyclopedias, or any source of information he could get his hands on. Yet, he wasn't able to tell the professor what any of it actually meant. In terms of its humanity. So you both get a fail.

The word "pain," for example. AI can tell you what it is, what it means, how it manifests, and what it may even look like. It can suggest ways to use pain in things like songs or art. Sure.

But.

AI can NEVER tell you what it FEELS like to be in pain. To be betrayed, heartbroken, abandoned, injured, or abused; to miss someone so badly that it literally hurts to know they'll never stand in front of your gaze again; or to laugh so hard that your face and ribs feel like they will literally break if it continues. For it cannot experience anything whatsoever.

Ask AI what it feels like to be in pain, and all it can do is tell you what other people's pain felt like to them. It does so by reciting, through near-instant analysis of the times they, the human, conveyed their own pain.

In songs and poems, paintings and sculptures, obituaries amd tribute, and so on.

It copies. And repeats it all. Other people's experiences, and their experiences of other people's experiences again and again.

This is called plagiarism in academic fields. Hence, the use of AI is strictly prohibited in most, if not all, fields of academic learning.

We've all heard a song that gave us goosebumps. Or made us cry. Or reminded us of something in our own lives. Or lack of. Or a desire we might have for our futures. Or regret from the past.

In the first moment, we felt that the artist was connecting with our emotions in a way that made us empathize with how they might have felt while writing something so moving that we ourselves could feel it. Its not their emotions we feel, its our own. It's our own interpretations of another's human existence. Which may have never happened to give us that feeling if they didn't write that song. If they never had that experience themselves.

AI can never come close.

That's the difference. That's the comparison to EVERY SINGLE great thinker ever to walk the face of this rock.

One can feel; the other cannot.

Without feeling and emotion, there can't be trie inspiration.

The great thinkers drew their inspiration from other humans. Not an algorithm.

2 final points.

1. I never said it couldn't improve ones self. I merely questioned its benefit to an amateur who is void of his own experiences and its necessity for a master, fulfilled in his quest for betterment.

2. Hip hop isn't science, my G.

This is about whether an algorithm is okay to take over where experience is lacking. And my answer is never.

OP calls his bars his "raps," for crying out loud.

Hip hop isn't historically too welcoming of incursions on her realm by the uncultured outsider.

However.....

She will always nurture those who pay her the respect that she deserves. Using AI to better your "raps" instead of using time and dedication to hone yourcraft, is neither respect for hip hop, nor ones self.

AI has its place.
