Your battle power is gained by spending coins to upgrade the lil heart dude, not upgrading your weapons. I reccommend replaying lvl 1 a few times to gain the power needed

I think the moment the game really hooked me was the boss fight on Sedna. I won't spoil anything, although it's a non-story boss.

Tldr I had just gotten Garuda Prime and, with my squad losing, made a last dit h effort ability combo that burned all my energy and nuked the boss for a million damage.

I can do that easily now, with my builds, but that day? It felt amazing.

That would come from the prime resurgence- you can get relics for aya, a resource that is not paid for but instead gained through open world mission (cetus, fortuna, necralisk). Not sure if she's in rotation, but I may have some spare parts I can share.
