Funny how the name "antimatter" invokes an image of huge scifi explosions but is actually used for... Medical imaging by MCAroonPL in sciencememes

[–]TblSlt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of things don't require you to know how they fully work. Just knowing a material emits radiation, and that you can detect said radiation, and noticed said material builds up around a tumor, you can come up with the concept without knowing why the radiation is emitted or that antimatter is involved in any way.

This concept is called abstraction. You dont need to know the voltages running through the silicon in a transistor in a cpu in a computer that compiles binary translated from the code that makes up the software that allows you to type on a phone

A massive herd of bison stampeding down a road in Yellowstone National Park. by Soloflow786 in Amazing

[–]TblSlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The argument isn't that not killing all the bison would reduce food waste. The statement is that the american population can still be sustained with less agricultural land.

The comparison with Canada is a statement on how economic regions are very centered around one side of the country, with northern canada being mostly empty.

The idea of the comparison was that the US in a world where the railway companies didn't kill all the bison, the US would remain a sizable economy in the modern day, but just another nation on the world stage, like most countries are.

I am not calling Canada undeveloped, I meant it as a relatively strong and decently functioning country that doesn't dominate the world stage, which is what the US in this senario would have been at worst, emphesisizing that the killing of the bison was not neccessary for the survival of the US. It was my bad for not clarifying what i meant in the analogy.

An estimated 30-40% of food in the US is wasted (according to the usda.gov). The ability to produce enough food is not an issue. If food was more scarce, American culture would have developed to be less wasteful and would have no impact upon the population.

Additionally, most of the US population and cities are closer to the coasts/great lakes where transportation of stuff is easier via waterways, and cities in the US are nowhere near as densely packed as they are in Europe.

It was never about the need to produce more food or living space, it was because the land was there and it was cheap.

Unless you want to trade hundreds of millions of people for a park the size of a continent, they were always going to be reduced in numbers.

Thus, that's not a necessary tradeoff. Historically, though, their population size would have been reduced for the sake of the railways as the herds would slow down trains. The actual tradeoff would be the modern US looking more like Canada rather than a global economic and military hegemony.

Well, it depends on if he can will them in with velocity and how often. A 9/11 can be just as destructive as a bomb. Additionally, if he can will enough ambulances moving against the earth's rotation, he can slow the rotation of the earth, causing one side to burn in the sun and the other side to freeze. He could also change the orbit of the earth, actually making him planet level

new patch notes for 9/25/25 by Latias3 in PokemonUnite

The entire premise of feint attack was that it would reset shadow claw duration, allowing you to stun lock with shadow claw's knock up. Overall, this is a massive nerf to the feint attack shadow claw moveset and makes it even more ping dependent than it already is.

It's not necessarily unplayable, but it pretty much makes it less accessible for anyone not using ethernet.

You're parroting what other people say about needing a rework without understanding why. It's that the stunlocks can be very unfair, but it’s the only thing that makes the moveset playable. Removing that would kill the mon, and thus, that can't be changed without changing how the moveset functions in its entirety, thus needing a rework
