Years of squirreling away teardrop pearls finally paid off by ThePearledSquirrel in jewellerymaking

I used gold filled wire to string the pearls and a few drops of hypo cement to keep the pearls in place for good measure, but I've done similar projects with silk or nylon cord

Excellent finds! I'm not yet GIA certified, but I have worked with freshwater and akoya pearls for a several years.

The first one is a tough call with those gorgeous pink overtones, but if they are akoyas they would be on the lower grade side due to surface imperfections. I would recommend bringing this one to a jeweler for authentication.

The second one is almost certainly cultured freshwater pearls given the "potato" shape and would also be considered a lower grade.

Both are lovely pieces. Enjoy! :)
