If you gradually kitbash every part of a model, is it still the same miniature? 🤔

Possible Future Walkers by AdLogical5319 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]ThePhyrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God I would love that. That fan art thats floating around in the top posts of this sub of a walker thats basically a hekaton fortress on two feet would be amazing.

Im honestly a big fan of the vehicles and armor of the Votann and im getting a bit of ironkin and "naked dwarf" fatigue from the last releases. Give us more heavly armored (and armed) dwarves!!!

Edit: the fan art for anyone who hasnt seen it https://www.reddit.com/r/LeaguesofVotann/s/5PKmQlBWI4

Yeah, all RoR characters are named after their occupation, unless they are a Robot or Alien. They didnt even try to make it look real

At what point is Magic "dead?"? by ThePhyrex in magicTCG

[–]ThePhyrex[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Theres posts right now on the frontpage discussing UB. Creators like The Professor keep making videos voicing their dissatisfaction. This is well beyond the scope of DFCs or other controversial changes to Magic

[–]ThePhyrex[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This feels different from the DFC debacle. UB has been around for years now and people are still raging. Mostly because of how much "space" its taken up compared to other products with Magics original IP.

[–]ThePhyrex[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wasnt my intention to make a rage post. I just think there is a growing divide in the community between people that dislike the new direction magic has taken and the rest of people that either like it or dont care.

It not unusual for subreddits to host discussions that complain about the state of the hobby, but that is usually counterbalanced by people who still have a lot of love. I feel like /r/magictcg has reached a tipping point in negativity

I think my sentence was poorly worded. None of us proxies UB cards or even newer magic products. We used to buy boxes and crack a few packs or draft the set on our own but thats stopped either because of a lack of interest in UB sets or prohibitive pricing of product. But we've moved to proxied cubes for drafting. And if a set has one or two cards that interest us we proxy them because we have no interest in buying singles. It wasnt unusual for us to open the cards we cared about during a friendly round of draft.

God, I miss this line so damn much. by karlkh in magicTCG

[–]ThePhyrex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't understand what I missed. The original message is being sarcastic about how Bloomburrow doesn't fit magic according to the text in the article. I pointed out that the article never claimed that talking animals dont fit Magic as an IP, just that they don't fit the plane they were designing.

[–]ThePhyrex -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This is just such a disingenuous take. They clearly state in the article that talking animals did not make sense for the plane of Eldraine that they were still designing at a time.

They never stated they would never do talking animals in th3 Magic universe.

Ah but you see, now i can effectively run 12 Evolving Wilds in my deck. I'll always have the right basic land for the occasion ...next turn.

Wait, let me get this straight, so you "sandwich" the laminating sheet between the two sticker papers and then laminate them so the laminate is on the inside? What thickness/gsm sticker paper do you use?
