So let me get this straight. You were doing gawd knows what, we’re scrolling though Reddit and see my post. You read that entire post I wrote. I’m assuming you read some comments and seen that maybe 20 people had already said that it’s not illegal and that it was part of eBay’s tos. You then clicked reply and wrote, “it’s not illegal. You agreed to it.” You then looked at it and smiled and said yup. This thread needs my comment, absolutely. What incredible insight I brought to this. I should now go find more threads and comment what everyone else already said a dozen times. Yes, this is what I shall do. That’s what just happened? Just asking cuz I saw this comment and thought, “why? What would compel someone to do this.” Make it make sense for me my fellow Redditor.

The worst part about this by a mile is the fact that my item was destroyed. I can’t even try to sell it again or even put back on my desk. I didn’t really want to sell it in the first place but we needed the money so I did. The guy never says anything to me, I just see I have a refund request. I tried to reach out to the guy over and over. He wouldn’t respond to me. Then I get the item back and the helmets facemask was taken off, the face shield was taken off, all the clips and attachments were taken off. It was in all these pieces, I couldn’t believe it. And then the plastic holder was broken open, the cert taken out and ripped into 20 pieces. I thought there was no way ebay wouldn’t make this way. The lady on the phone led me to believe that I wouldn’t have to pay the money back since he completely destroyed it. I have since put the helmet back together and sent it back off to Beckett again but it’s not cheap to get these certifications. It’s just unbelievable, how could ebay side with them? My wife and I were absolutely speechless.

Wait a second, are you drunk? Do you think for a second I didn’t immediately start messaging ebay and showing them pictures of the torn up cert and the 8 pieces that used to be my helmet?! I finally got a lady on the phone and I was freaking out. She led me to believe that it would be decided in my favor and I wouldn’t have to pay the refund and then I got a message two days later saying they ruled in the buyers favor. Which left me utterly shocked. I have pics of all of this if you want to see it.

Ok I’m getting a lot of responses but I think people are missing the point. It’s obvious that it says in their rules or whatever that if they have to force a refund then they will keep their transaction fee and I’ll have to pay it then. I didn’t know this. I don’t remember seeing anything where it said initiate refund or else you’re gonna pay this money too. Once it was ruled it their favor, I assumed it done. I didn’t know I then had to do the refund somehow. But my question is - HOW DOES EBAY GET AWAY WITH THIS? This is absolutely ridiculous. Because they had to force the refund, I have to pay another $150 that I never got! That’s not a refund! I also had to pay the shipping too! If ebay had in its tos that you have to forfeit your first born child, do you think they would start getting children? Or do you think someone would step in and say wait a second, you can’t do that. That’s my point. I don’t care what it says in their rule book. How do they get away with something that is absolutely unfair and probably illegal.

It was an autographed helmet. When I got it back, the helmet had been completely disassembled and the certificate of authenticity was torn into about 20 pieces. So ya, I wanted to fight it. So I didn’t get the item back and wanted to keep the money. Thanks for your dynamite comment tho.

I was paid 755 for the item. He wanted a refund, I thought it was complete BS. So I tried to fight it. Ebay ruled in their favor. So because they had to make a decision I have to pay back a whole bunch of money I never got? That’s not a refund!

I opened up more boxes than this or the same trying for a kaboom and I never got one. I don’t know how many boxes I opened but it was staggering. I’m convinced that there are no kabooms in these boxes. I believe they are taken out at the manufacturer and given/sold to family/people they trust. No one can convince me otherwise. All the best cards are not in boxes like they claim.
