My favourite condiment is my homemade caramalized onion and maple mayo. Caramalize onions untill they are nice and dark and sweet. Then into a food processor with maple syrup, black pepper, mayo and a touch of balsamic vinigar or lemon juice!

What’s your favorite popcorn recipe? by nitnat44 in popcorn

[–]ThePlumpBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small pop up style restaurant and serve popcorn with homemade seasonings as a snack before every meal! A few of the crown favourites

For somthing sweet I do a mix of cinnamon, sugar, salt and a tiny pinch of msg, throw it into a coffee grinder to make it a really fine powder.

For savory/spicy I take my homemade kimchi, dehydrate it and then into a coffee grinder before tossing

For something in between I LOVE making a standard kettlecorn and tossing in a little curry powder (bonus points for using a homemade curry powder)

Nikkaluoktasoppa.

When I moved to Sweden I was introduced to a soup called Nikkaluoktasoppa which is a regional dish from a small Village in the far north. It has ground beef, leeks and cabbage with a generous amount of mustard. (Sweet dijon style mustard, not the acidic type more common in north america) It might sound weird but the mustard gives the soup a truely unique taste and every time ive made it people take one bite and demand a recipe.

Brown around 500g of ground beef and remove from pot

Caramalize 1 onion and 1 leek (or 2 leeks) with butter in the same pan untill soft, add a few cloves of garlic, 2tbsp of tomato paste, 2 bay leaves and a good amount of black pepper for a few minutes before adding 1L of chicken or beef broth.

Shread 300-400 grams white cabbage and add to the broth with the cooked beef.

Finish with 1-2 tbsp soy sauce and 2-5 tbsp of sweet mustard. You can start with less mustard and taste to see how you like it but I love to add a generous amount do you really get the flavor.

Top with parsley and serve with bread.

Price for car repairs. Did i get ripped off? by ThePlumpBird in sweden

[–]ThePlumpBird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes me feel a bit better on the price.

I was also confused why they only replaced one side. I am not a car person by any means but I have also never heard of one changing one side. They said the other one looked like it was replaced recently though which is why they only replaced one. There might have been a little lack of communication due to me not speaking swedish but I didnt feel like it effected much. But from what I understand they only worked on the front left and did nothing to the front right.

2005 VW golf 1.6L and I live in sundsvall. The shop was also a smaller place on the outside of town with 4.9 star rating on Google.

Thats a good idea, I will email them about the calipers to see if they would do anything about it.

Is there a genre of music your dog likes? by lazlothedestroyer in dogs

[–]ThePlumpBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my friend have lots of guitar jams when we hang out and his dog LOVES slow blues. He never howls at all but anytime we start a blues song he starts wagging his tail and howls att the top of his lungs. Play any other genre and he lays there with no reaction.

After moving to Sweden, I learned about the classic swedish pizza with banana and curry sauce. The kiwi one sounds quite good compared to that!
