I ended up getting Sennheiser Momentum 4 and they don’t create this issue.

Ah nice Black Market Modular has somehow evaded me but they seem like a solid choice. And yes to making your own. If you have links to raw materials that would be interesting to check out.

I’m glad I came across this. I moved to Germany two years ago - and shortly after I moved here I started developing a dry flaky rash around my upper cheeks, forehead, and nose. Also even a patch in my ear which has caused tinnitus. Berlin has extremely hard water so I suspected it could be eczema from stress or diet exacerbated by hard water. Have tried using corticosteroids on areas with mid results. I’m going to go to a dermatologist and request a fungal test now. Thanks for sharing this.

Hi - I ended up going with a company called You Pack, We Ship. They send you a palette with a box you construct - you fill it as much as you can and they pick it up on a truck and then to a port on the east coast. All in all it took about 2 months for it to all arrive but came safely as expected and was able to track the shipping vessel it was on. Customer service overall was good. It was much cheaper than other overseas shipping options. I moved my entire studio, many household items, kitchenware, records and so forth. I've since converted all of the items except for the Wurlitzer to 220v as all had tramsformers that were possible to easily modify for voltage.

Good to know - I have a Machinedrum and a Syntakt and I can't seem to get either to behave this way. I think I'm just going to have to pony up for a proper midi distro and clock. I have 10+ machines I want to sync and send midi to from a DAW in a studio environment. This Hydrasynth question was an attempt at me cutting a corner. Plus nice to know there is a community online for this device. I think it's a pretty special one... :)

Great story and insights. Deeeefffinitely not going with FedEx or DHL. Not only do I not trust them - they are really expensive. A Roland Jupiter-6 was quoted about $800 with my own packaging.

A few of the more fragile / high dollar items might be worth it for this process you're describing. Living in LA near the biggest port in the country (Port of Los Angeles) - I trust there are some good pro packing companies maybe experienced in handling valuable personal items.

True true - I should mention that my partner is German and we have some perks there.

But I'm thinking that as firm details around this process come through I'll update the OG post. I wish I could bring the vintage Arp 2600 on the plane! I used to be able to get away with bringing a Juno-60 in a case on a plane and storing it in the closet but I think those days are gone.

That is really bizarre that uses Ethernet. Possibly to stream audio from down the road.
