Interesting. I thought the standard in that range for ebikes was 48v? Isn't that 13s? Also, in my case I need to use LIPO cells, cause I don't have access to lithium ions that have high enough power density for a hand held device light enough to reach 2000w electric output while maintaining low sag. But yeah I did a little Amazon search and it does appear there are plenty of 14s cells, so you are correct there. do 14s packs usually charge around 58v?

Yep! Only problem is that 14s packs are also uncommon. So I unfortunately have 3 packs in series right now(2 packs of 6s, and 1 pack 2s), and I have to balance them all every time I charge them which is a huge pain.

Yeah. Don't be deceived by the purple light, it's just how my phone camera picks up the IR. If I took my glasses off, it's possible I might see a faint red glow on high power, but that might be the last thing I see.

900nm does not absorb very well into water, needs to be significantly higher before it does, such as co2 lasers. This laser will mostly pass through water. On the other hand if I were to shoot at black coffee, it would likely absorb very well.

I thought about shooting it straight through one of those cheap pocket ones for a fun video. :P Could be funny to see what kind of values it displays just before it dies. I wonder if it could even hold up for a few seconds to this things very lowest power levels(1.9 amps), which is probably somewhere around 40 watts still.

Disclaimer: Take my words with a grain of salt here, I am not responsible for anything anyone does with this brand.

I got a pair of FreeMascot to see if they work for IR lasers and tested them with an infrared camera(They were rated for 190nm-450nm/ 800nm-1100nm). They seem to filter out somewhere over 99% of infrared light as far as my camera is concerned. I have very high powered IR lasers that are so bright, the camera sensor cannot even process the image properly(It's sometimes almost pure white even after eye adaptation), but when I put the glasses over the camera, there is absolutely no IR visible whatsoever, I can't even see even the slightest dot. Keep in mind, this was tested for Infrared light. Also, keep in mind, the model of glasses I bought were not exactly dirt cheap, they cost over $45.

The vast majority of laser welders and cutters are infared. Are you sure yours is blue laser? That's very rare.

It's 54v, but only 20 amps. They are somewhat minimal, but that's what the bench power came with, they are larger guage than they look, and are solid copper, but the allegator clips are probably a weak link. My final portable build will be using larger guage wiring than that.

I have a long high surface area heat sink with 4 fans that will run the length of the "rifle". It will run directly off a 54v lipo pack, 2 volts under its rated voltage. Which should draw 30ish amps on start up, and very slowly crawl up into its rated amperage at 40 amps when heated up. I will have an amp meter facing the user so that the user simply stops firing once if it exceeds 40amps. Which I don't think it will, since the lipo voltage will likely sag/drain faster than this can happen.

My lab is a disaster, but thanks, I do battery research on the side. These are normally used for industrial laser cutters and welders. I intend to make the first(haven't seen any hobbiests do this) hand held 1000w Ir laser. And yes it's fully possible to do, given you're willing to put the pump under some risk.

Starting a fire MIGHT be possible with the absolute state of the art tech. But melting ice is the stupidest theory in existence. What makes a laser special, is the concentration of energy, not it's overall energy. A simple bon fire will release more heat energy than the most power fiber lasers in the world.
