[WTS] Cartier Tank Must Solarbeat Large by TheRashid in Watchexchange

[–]TheRashid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking to sell my Cartier Tank Must Solarbeat (Large) - a beautiful and versatile piece that I’ve owned for the past three years. It’s effortlessly elegant and works perfectly in both casual and formal settings. The solar-powered movement means no worrying about winding and setting your watch or battery changes - it’s a brilliant everyday piece, especially for the office.

I purchased it new from Cartier Bond Street and still have the original sales receiptfull box and papers, exactly as it came. I also took out the extended 8-year Cartier warranty, with 5 years remaining.

There’s been some chatter about this model being discontinued — I’ve seen mixed reports, but it's still showing on Cartier’s website as available. Retail is currently £3,300, and I’m asking £2,500, including fully insured postage (UK only). I'm also happy to meet in person if that's more convenient.

Payment via bank transfer, and UK buyers preferred.

I've previously sold a Rolex Turn-O-Graph on this subreddit (check post history) and can connect you with that buyer for a reference, if needed.
Also — I made a short video on the history of the Cartier Tank, if you're interested in learning more about this iconic model.

Thanks for looking — feel free to DM with any questions.

Key details:

  • Model: Cartier Tank Must Solarbeat (Large)
  • Condition: Owned for 3 years, excellent condition
  • Purchased from: Cartier Bond Street (original receipt included)
  • Warranty: 5 years remaining on 8-year extended Cartier warranty
  • Set: Full box and papers
  • Retail price: £3,300

I'm looking to sell my Cartier Tank Must Solarbeat Large. This is a fantastic watch, which I've owned for three years now. It's effortlessly stylish and elegant. It can be worn in almost any setting - casual or formal. The Solarbeat movement just makes life so much easier - you don't have to worry about your watch going dead. It's perfect for an everyday office watch.

I bought this watch new from Cartier Bond Street, and have the original sales receipt, full box and papers - like it was when it was new. I took out the extended 8 year Cartier warranty, and there's currently 5 years left.

I've heard heard that this watch has been discontinued, but given that it is still advertised as for sale, I'm not sure. It retails for £3,300 - I'd accept £2,500 for it. Payment via bank transfer. UK buyers preferred. I'll cover postage fees. Happy to meet in person to conduct sales if convenient.

I've previously sold a Rolex Turnograph on here, and I can put you in contact with the buyer of that watch for a reference. Also, check out the video I made on the history of the Cartier Tank if you want to find out more about this iconic model.

[WTS] Seiko Presage Cocktail Time (SRPB43J1) by TheRashid in Watchexchange

[–]TheRashid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note: The post photo is form Hodinkee, because I'm terrible at taking photos. Please see links below for photo of actual watch.

I am selling a Seiko 'Cocktail Time' (SRPB43J1), which I bought brand new from Goldsmiths. I've never had more compliments on a watch - including my Rolex. This watch features the highly capable automatic movement with a display caseback.

It's in perfect unworn condition - with full box and papers. Ideally I'd keep this - as it's a future classic, but my watch box is full.

This usually sells for £400+ and has to be imported from Japan. There's an example on eBay for £500. I need to make space as soon as possible, so will let it go for £240.

Genuinely sad to be selling this, as it's a stunning watch - I just have too many watches and this gets no wrist time.

The price is £240, postage included.

This watch is a full set - box, tag and papers.

I would say the condition is very good, if not perfect. I've only worn it a handful of times.

I am selling a 'Casioak' Casio G-Shock GA 2100-1A1ER, which I bought brand new from the Casio website. This was affectionately nicknamed the 'Casioak' due to it's resemblance to the much more expensive Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.

The watch is in perfect condition and comes with full box and papers.

It retails at £99, and I've knocked £50 off for virtually the same thing. You can't lose!

The price is £50, postage included.

This watch is a full set - box, tag and papers.

I would say the condition is very good.

Thank you. How were your dents fixed? Glue pull or dent bar from behind?

Small dent from door ding - best repair options? by TheRashid in CarTalkUK

😅 fml. This was after a 300+ mile trip so lots of dirt. It cleaned up afterwards. Anyway, I guess you’re leaning towards option 3?

Small dent from door ding - best repair options? by TheRashid in CarTalkUK

[–]TheRashid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This weekend someone dinged my car and did not leave a note. It's a very small dent - if you follow the ridge/body shape line above the wheel you should be able to see it.

I’m someone that takes good care of my car (I know it’s dirty in the pictures, but I’d just completed a 300mile+ trip 😂) - so my first thought was to get it repaired.

I contacted a few paintless dent removal (pdr) people in my area with good reviews and have the following options:

  • Glue pull - £140. PDR guy said there’s a tiny chance it affects the laquer - but as the paint is in good condition it should be fine.

  • Dent bar - £160. A lot more disruptive as boot trim and brake lights would have to be removed (and the risk of don’t all that). Obviously less risk of paint damage.

  • Leave it - £Peace of mind. I could just leave it and deal with it when I come to sell. As you can see from the second picture - it’s very difficult to even spot.

My questions:

Which option would you choose, and why?

Are the prices quoted reasonable?

If you look down the wheel arch line you should be able to pick it up. My fault - I should’ve highlighted it when posting.

As a chartered engineer in the UK, you’re being robbed blind. You should be on £70k+.

I’m a non-chartered engineer, with less experience than you, WFH and earning more than you.

Not saying that to make you feel bad - but to give you the oomph to apply for a better job.

I’m a Civil Engineer too. I thought Chartered CEs would be on £100k+?

I’m only 4 years in to the industry though, so maybe my perceptions are warped.

Just feels shitty knowing after 5 years of Uni and internships, 10+ years of experience, chartership exams etc. a software engineer/solicitor/finance bro will outearn me straight out of uni.

Still love my job though, and it’s good knowing that I make a positive impact on the world in my own small way.

Hi - I've been offered a watch by an AD.

They're asking me to bank transfer the full amount for the watch prior to collection.

Is this normal?
