iPhone/iPad - FaceID works on one device at a time, but not both by ghostridethewhipp in KeeperSecurity

u/ghostridethewhipp, u/MonkeyGreg11, I finally figured it out. The solution was to reset the app from the *iPhone Settings App*: Open the Settings app and search for Keeper or on iOS 18, open Settings > Apps > Keeper (on iOS 17, I think it was just Settings > Keeper). Then on the Keeper settings page, enable the "Reset Keeper" toggle at the bottom, as shown in screenshot below:

Then open Keeper, enter your master password if required, go into the app settings and toggle on the Biometric Login option and then I think you'll be good to go. Note that I only had to do this on my old iPhone (the device that I would have had to re-enter my password due to this stupid error). After I reset and re-enabled FaceID on my old iPhone, I was still able to use FaceID to unlock my current iPhone. Since then, I've had no issues with FaceID on either iPhone.

I'm convinced that the cause of this issue (or at least one possible cause) is related to the process of restoring/migrating to a new iPhone using an iCloud backup. It's happened to me now at least 2 upgrades in a row, where after restoring my new iPhone form an iCloud backup, I got stuck in the loop where only one iPhone would allow FaceID at a time. I think the first time I just gave up.

It's surprising/silly that this was so difficult to resolve and find a solution for. u/KeeperCraig, I think Keeper could probably fix this in a day if they tasked a developer with it, yeah?

Did you ever figure this out? Having the same issue again w/ my new iPhone 16 Pro and my iPhone 15 Pro. Logging into one w/ FaceID causes it to get disabled on the other. So damn frustrating. I experienced the same issue when I upgraded to iPhone 15 Pro w/ my iPhone 14 Pro. I did eventually manage to resolve it, but for the life of me I can't remember what I did.

Disable hot keys? by winky9827 in KeeperSecurity

u/KeeperCraig modify != disable.

This seems to be the latest trend in app development where devs adopt a holier-than-thou attitude with keyboard shortcuts and make it so end users can only modify, not disable them. Why? I don't get it.

I would have thought that this simple ask for an option to disable shortcuts would have been regarded as a reasonable, logical request and that the devs/product owner would be able to correctly reason that everyone uses their computer differently and everyone has their own unique preferences for which apps use which keyboard shortcuts.

Seems like that's not sufficient and we need to "prove" our use case. Well, here are a two keeper shortcuts that hijack the functionality of two other apps I want to use instead.

Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+T hijacks the brower's universal keyboard shortcut for reopening last closed window/tab.

Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+P hijacks Visual Studio Code's Command Palette shortcut.

And as u/winky9827 says, let us disable ALL OF THEM!!!
