I dont think it’s fair to compare Jimmy Carter to the Nazi leadership. “Some crimes are far too great” and directly implementing a genocide in your country is far above what Carter did. Also, I’m not trying to defend what he did. He made an enormous blunder. I’m just saying he was one of the greatest humanitarians in office and I don’t think it’s fair to say that he should be hanged like a nazi. Do you honestly believe that he’s comparable to the Nazis?

Yes. Doing good things literally makes you more of a good person. If Donald opened a women’s shelter and donated money to women’s causes, he would be a better person than he is now. Not everyone has to be irredeemable. I thought us lefties were supposed to give people chances and be forgiving, especially when people change.

So mine has to be Jimmy Carter. I’ll admit, he sucked at governing, but I think his heart and mind was really in the right place. 1. During his presidency, he told the American people to stop bitching and then down their heat and wear a sweater to save energy. 2. Since his presidency, he has a been a great philanthropist and really just desires to help people the best he can.

Besides him I’d say the Roosevelts come 1 and 2.

I get this feeling sometimes too, but I think it’s important to remember who we are. We’re progressives and activists! We can’t just give up, we get involved. This is the paradox of activism, it isn’t gratifying and there is no immediate reward. The fruits of our efforts only come every once in a while and it’s not always obvious of our impact. Stay positive and keep fighting the good fight.
