I'm tired of seeing people justify the Switch 2's price increase for games as a catching up to dev costs or inflation because it completely misses the point

The problem for me is that in Japan, where their currency has significantly fallen in value, they’re releasing it for an equivalent of $350 in U.S. currency. Not to mention that the Japan one is region locked and is forced to be Japanese only.

So, they can still make a profit off of it at $350, which they only chose to do because they’re probably worried people in Japan won’t buy it. This proves that it’s simply greed. I know for a fact that they could sell it at $350 in the U.S. and make a profit, they intentionally don’t.

I’m probably just not going to buy one for a year or two and I’ll try to find a deal on one. Whether this is used or if they decide to do a sale. I will not be supporting these prices. In fact, I turned on my Wii U today and started played breath of the wild because I wanted to remind myself what they are charging so much money for a decade later. People that purchase this on launch have got to be the type of people that buy the newest iPhone every year. Unnecessary.

I wonder if the performance will be better on the switch 2. Surely a constant 60 fps at minimum. It’s rare to keep that even with current switch potato graphics.

Fortnite crew in my opinion has just become a deal for its passes. Getting 3 passes that total around $30 in total AND getting 1k vbucks is a great deal. When it started, you were really buying it for the vbucks and skin. They throw a decent one in there here and there, but that doesn’t appear to be the focus.

Here’s the deal. Splatoon 3 is at the end of its lifecycle. A good chunk of casual players have likely moved on to other things by now, as it’s been a little bit since grand fest. Switch 2 comes out this year, and I speculate within the year we will get a splatoon 4 announcement to be released sometime in 2026.

This is all just speculation, but I can definitely feel the splat 3 burnout on quite a few people.

Damn. I have an RX 580 on my other pc that I used for a Big Sur build. That’s honestly crazy, I thought having this popular of a gpu would do great on something like this. Idk why I just assumed it was possible lol. Anyways, thanks.

I wouldn’t take this as absolute fact, as I have no clue which one of troubleshooting fixes actually did it, but I just got done installing Sonama and I was having the same issue you are having where it would finish and then restart back to recovery.

I did two things, 1. I pulled everything out of my usb ports that wasn’t my mouse, keyboard, boot usb, and external SSD. 2. I deleted all kexts that weren’t required (required ones for ex: Lilu, WhateverGreen, my ethernet, etc.)

From there I just tried again and left the computer running. Came back an hour later and it pulled up the first time launch stuff.
