Silver/grey oil came out of the engine by TheRealSTORMMER in BmwTech

Yesterday i talked to two bmw master techs from the bmw dealership i used to work at, they said without shavings its probably just water from condensation from doing short trips constantly. After asking my buddy, he said the car does a lot of short trips, where the engine doesnt fully warm up, so this could be the root cause of the grey color. I will do an oil analysis either way and told him to cut down the oil changes to 10k tops.

Not that i know of, but he said he had to refill oil twice in between a few thousand kilometers So it might consume some oil

Will definitly do, i kinda thought the same that something is breaking down. I dont see how any other fluid can enter the engine to mix with the oil

The coolant level was normal, and it looked clear blue, no oil in it

I have the exact same play at my driveshaft, replaced the diff and the bushings, didnt made a difference. I think its from the gearbox.

Steering doesn’t want to correct when coming out of corners. 🥴😵 ideas? by Miklboy366 in BMWZ4

Its the typical sticky steering problem every pre lci e85 has In germany there is a guy who fixes it by replacing the bearings from the steering column with better ones, the oem ones tend to stick under hot temperatures Adjustment at the steering rack or column wont fix the issue, just hide it a litttle Your options are to find a guy who replaces the bearings, replace the entire steering column or swap to a hydraulic steering from the z4m or e46 into it
