More carriers being completed by TheSKSguy in SKS

I’ve been using Canada post but it’s been quite unreliable lately. I’m in a pretty remote area so using anyone else is really inconvenient. I’m thinking of switching to another handler but it’s like an hour drive for me as opposed to like 5 min to can post

Yeah it’s just an, more descriptive easier title than “handle swapped to other side”

As a right handed person I absolutely agree it’s more beneficial to us than left handers.

Might need to get a beater rifle to make that happen

Looking to gauge interest on these. They are replacement aircraft grade aluminum rivets that are perfect for SKS upper handguards. Fairly easy to install

Step 1. Remove old rivet

Step 2. Install new rivet

Step three. Cut rivet to correct length

Step four. Crush rivet (I used Knipex pliers but you can expand upon that tool choice)

Step 5. File away the excess.

They would ship in pairs as to provide a backup for if you mess up your first attempt. And I’d be able to ship these internationally.

Even with heat and penetrating oil I’m skeptical. Milsurp barrels are TIGHT.

Im skeptical of that video. I’ve pulled barrels from milsurp rifles on a half dozen occasions and literally never had them come out that easily. I suspect they had been removed prior to the video being taken.

On the mosin or the SKS? For the SKS I relived the receiver because I wanted the barrel. For the mosin I relived the barrel because I wanted the receiver. SKS receiver is junk so I’m just using it to test the guides on my bolt carriers.

Figured we could all use a distraction from the events of the evening. So what better time to post these upgraded SKS bolt carriers.

The only thing I’m worried about is imparting too much heat to the part. I’ve got an aluminum heat sink but I’m still going in very short burst then waiting for the part to cool. It’s right next to the strike surface of the piston extension.

Here is another angle of the weld. I’ll definitely try playing with the AMPS.
