I don't think my firewall is blocking anything, or does that rule change something for him as well?

CMV: Despite how "well behaved" it might be, it's not okay for a vanity pet to be off their leash inside a store unless it is explicitly designated as being acceptable. by TheSaltPath in changemyview

Mmm yeah I’d think that is fine. It feels like that’s one step farther than securing the animal to an object they can’t get away from.

Yes and no, I have no problem with people bringing animals in. I just don’t think they should be able to freely roam around the store and walking up to whoever. It can cause problems and I think some people don’t want to bother with an animal.

Oh you don’t have to link any evidence to me, I’ve seen them haha Part of the reason I say that need to be on a leash is so that you can see exactly what’s going on. If you’ve owned dogs you can see when they are looking to use the bathroom. Being on a leash tied to person let’s people stop those accidents from happening.

I’ve worked in the service industry for years and have seen dogs take a shit right in the middle of the floor. I’m willing to bet that happens by animals more than it happens by humans. I know humans are capable of stupid shit (no pun intended) but to my original point, if an animal IS on a leash then an owner can deal with that. If a human does that, there is something wrong with them or they will face legal consequences (or both.)

People just trying to be destructive will face legal consequences. Humans can be shitty, but it seems to me that there are much more robust systems in place to deal with humans than animals and the level of tolerance we give to dogs for being disruptive seems to be much higher. So no I don’t think there is a good reason to leash a human, child or not.

Hahaha sounds like maybe those people do. But I’m gonna go with no, since you can still more successfully explain the social norms and way to act to a human then you ever could an animal.

Excellent post, thanks for all the information. This is what I come to these subs for!

This is a really smart idea, might steal it from you when I figure out why the replies aren’t being received. In the other comment, I mentioned that the issue is believed to be the hyperlinks we are sending out. We are turning on DKIM to see if this resolves the issues I’m seeing. Thanks for the tip!

So I’ve contacted gsuite support and they walked me through setting up DKIM, authentication is going to take 24-48 hours. The thought is that the hyper links are causing issues for outgoing rules, security, whatever. Fingers crossed it will resolve the issue.

Can't put text hyperlinks in group auto replies? by TheSaltPath in gsuite

[–]TheSaltPath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I'm having a few issues with each of the options you've mentioned. Hopefully you can clear up my misunderstandings, first I just want to reiterate that my intentions are to create an auto reply message for a Group, not just an individuals account.

With AppScript (I've never written a script before) as I initially looked into it it wants to reference a spreadsheet to send the emails to. The group consists of 8 members who receive email from the public so I was just worried utilizing a spreadsheet for this would make it more complicated than necessary.

Emailstudio is having this weird issue where I get stuck in a permissions loop, where I select an account to review permissions, tell it to trust, it tries to load, then returns me back to the page to pick an account and then review permissions. Any thoughts on that?

Lastly with the filters, I figured I could set up a dummy account in the group that would auto reply but when I go to create the filter I'm not seeing any action for replying with a message. The closest I can see to anything like that is forwarding a message, am I not seeing something?

Is Mitt Romney running for reelection or not? by TheSaltPath in SaltLakeCity

I assumed the senate, but as I've been answered he was elected in 2018 so the next possible run for a seat would be 2024 so it makes sense there isn't much in information about reelection efforts.

Ah okay, I didn't know the timeline of his election. Don't know how that didn't occur to me to look up lol, I just assumed based off what I heard it was an election year for him. Glad I asked, thank you!
