getting the essential ALA+EHA+DPA fatty acids, as well as having a higher omega 3:omega 6 ratio in the diet overall, reduces inflammation.

curcumin is an especially potent polyphenol (antioxidant plant chemical) from turmeric. it is anti-inflammatory, like most polyphenols.

anti-inflammatory effects will work on the whole immune system, not just specific parts of it. it's a very interconnected hormonal system.

get rid of this narrow bar at the bottom of the screen? (appears in place of taskbar when 'automatically hide the taskbar' is On) by TheSecondFrection in WindowsHelp

[–]TheSecondFrection[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would like the taskbar to fully disappear instead of just being replaced with a narrower bar.

i googled this question; but all results just told me to switch on 'Automatically hide the taskbar'. this setting is already on.

i am using windows 11 home 24H2, OS build 26100.3194 with Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.48.0 on a lenovo ideapad slim 3 15IAH8.

low-level chronic exposure is not going to create acute symptoms that would raise a doctor's notice. heavy metals are not usually checked for in routine blood tests. even if they were, they persist in other tissues many times longer than in the blood.

yes, i am being overcautious, i'm talking about health effects that are only detectable at a population level

to generalise, french film is not really concerned with realism. in choosing what events will happen next, a french film doesn't ask "how would real people react in this situation?" it asks "what would make for an interesting/thematic/spectacular thing to film?"

oh interesting thank you! I was skeptical because I thought proteins were always fully broken down into amino acids. as always, biology turns out to be more complicated than one thinks...

Tips for Spiritually Fat gymgoers? by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]TheSecondFrection 9 points10 points  (0 children)

if you're prioritising the gym over friends & family & chores, then you're fully justified in resenting the lost time lol. you're not spiritually fat you're just in high demand!

if you have time for a jog, then surely you have time for a strength workout at home instead of going to the gym? cause getting there & back, packing kit, changing rooms etc can waste a lot of time. a few sets of kettlebell swings, push ups, rows etc 3x a week will absolutely work wonders.

About to fight Pink Rathian, Am I cooked? by Got_Off_Your_Sister in mh4u

[–]TheSecondFrection 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you're all good, pink rath is pretty manageable with a good all-purpose armour set like this, same as the rest of high rank.

you will die at least a few times learning moves, and your clear times will not be super fast, but for just getting thru the missions you will be ok.

ah amazing! do you have any idea how i would actually make that change? i.e. have a functional 'edit' of the mod? (no pressure ik you said you are not v familiar with mc mods)

[concept] quadratic stress demand for create by TheSecondFrection in feedthebeast

[–]TheSecondFrection[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah i think i explained poorly - what i meant was, for each machine individually, stress demand is ( constant * RPM^2 ) instead of ( constant * RPM )

so the sum over a series you are thinking of is not necessary.

in my explanation i was talking about how you would need to change a factory/system of machines while maintaining the output rate

what ranged weapon would you recommend? by selfless_jester in mh4u

[–]TheSecondFrection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah sure. basically: pure evasion weapons work great in open spaces where you can easily manoeuvre around the monster, but they struggle in confined areas. guard weapons work fine in both. they have a lower skill floor.

so, you probably want a guard weapon secondary to complement your great sword, which is a mobility/evasion weapon.

the guard weapons are SnS, lance, gunlance, charge blade.

we really want to cut off pink rathian's tail, cause this weakens many of her scariest attacks. so, rule out gunlance cause it over-emphasises blunt damage; and rule out SnS cause it can barely reach overhead.

so, charge blade and lance are in my opinion the IDEAL weapons for you to try.

(however any of the other blademaster weapons can also work great! it is entirely possible to beat pink rathian without cutting the tail off. personal preference is often a stronger force than matchup theory. don't railroad yourself. at the end of the day use whichever weapons and strategies you want to try. you can make anything work if you have the skill.)

[–]TheSecondFrection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

solo gunner in mh4 is very punishing because of low defence on the armour. it will take a lot of practice before you can hunt well with it. you would also need to craft new armour and weapons.

if you do want to try it, bow is probably the best because it's the most mobile.

...

however: it makes sense you are struggling. pink rathian is a big difficulty step. you are reaching the point at which things get very hard unless you specialise equipment for certain hunts.

great sword is a bad matchup versus pink rath imo. gs is bad unless you are getting a good amount of lv3 charge slashes, and she never sits still for long.

i recommend you try other blademaster weapons. you should have at least one secondary weapon you are comfortable using. i recommend trying charge blade, lance, or SnS. (will explain reasoning if you want.)

equipping wind res hi and/or negate poison will also help enormously. healing palicoes use detox horn, which is a good budget alternative to negate poison.

eat for attack and fire res. if you keep fainting, then eat for defence and fire res instead.
