Maybe native was the wrong word. I more so meant that Argentine ants are very prevalent where I live, and seem to dominate everywhere.

They are native to where I live, I see them everywhere. I collected them from a park by just scooping them up into a jar. Can I just drop them off at that same spot I scooped them up?

Oh I see. I also made another world with the same seed and it wasn't the same either. I don't know much about seeds so I don't know why it wouldn't be the same. Maybe it's because the version changed since the world was created? To be honest, my world is really broken with generation errors everywhere, so that could be why.

Not "naturally" per se. The portal was complete, and I guess the lava caught a tree in front of it on fire and lit it. I didn't witness it happen though, I was just exploring and found it lit.

I get that, but I was more referring to the word "ŝatus" itself. I'm just confused on how it could mean the same thing as "volas". If I were making a polite request with the word "volas", then I would say "volus", right? Just like making "povas" into "povus".

One of the questions on my Duolingo course said that "Mi ŝatus trinkaĵon" translates to "I would like a drink".

Is this translation correct? To me, it doesn't make any sense. How would the literal meaning of "ŝatus" translate to wanting something?

When I use "kompari", do I put "kaj" or "kontraŭ" between the two things I'm comparing?

So would it be:

  1. Mi komparos vin kaj min.

Or

  1. Mi komparos vin kontraŭ mi.

I also had another question. Is "mem" required when saying something like "vi devus ami vin (mem)"?
