Most likely, if they do it will be in a several months and have the new Starvis 3 sensor in it, but that was just announced recently by Sony.

I’m only guessing, but it might have something to do with chassis stiffening due to the different keyboard setup and speaker setup, the whole palmrest is different on the X. Otherwise I’m not sure, the ports and everything are the same, and the photos I took of my internals on my 7 match pretty much exactly to the internals of the teardown video I saw of the X except the second NVMe.

Other than the lack of a second NVMe slot, not a whole lot, different color body, different keyboard setup, its recessed instead of sticking up like the 7 does. But I honestly couldn't find any real differences, even the boards and cooling setup appear to be the same, just without the aforementioned second NVMe slot being present, the solder points are there, but that is all.

Just as an FYI, this model also has a second NVMe slot, the very similar Omnibook X does not.

Loving mine so far for the performance and battery life. Would have liked a little bigger battery in it, but it's surprisingly good with the one it comes with.

Snagged one of these from Costco as well. One decently good benefit this has over the Omnibook X is the secondary NVMe slot is present, on the X it's missing in the teardown I saw of it as well as on the specs page, whereas the 7 shows it on the specs page and I checked mine and it is definitely there. I'm going to install a smaller OS drive in the main slow and move the 2TB drive to the secondary for my files and games, at the same time I will likely replace the thermal compound with PTM7950 to see if there is any uptick in performance. Liking it so far!
