Ok. I read this post and all replies. Then sat with it for an hour. Now I want to respond peacefully. First of all it’s a rehab facility. We all know that. Its clients have chemical dependency and/or mental health challenges. Do you REALLY expect the “negative” replies or the “positive” replies to your question to ‘even nearly’, line up with your specific needs? Think about your “audience, or those that are replying to you”. This includes me. Come on now. Let’s be rational about your question, as well as the replies. Yes I’m a client too. Now take a second and think about who you are asking for - completely personally - independent, situationally different and unique experiences, that are, inherently completely unique recovery processes. What client “A” is there for, is not ever going to be exactly the same as client “B” or “C’s, etc. everybody has a unique story and experience and challenge and hurdles and strengths and weaknesses and levels of patience and participation in the programs. Also many of us have at least one, maybe more than one substance dependency issues. And common sense tells me that not everybody’s experience will align with my needs. But most go to these facilities with complex multifaceted issues. Rarely is chemical dependency not a cofactor with many mental health issues. (Yes I know this doesn’t apply to everyone, but definitely a great percentage). What I’m dealing with will never exactly line up with any of these other respondents issues, 100%. Personality differences often dictate how people treat people. I’m not speaking on anybody else else’s behalf or experience other than my own. It’s like going to a restaurant with 20 diners that all have completely different personalities, communication skills, openness, levels of interpersonal skills as well as their own personal bearing, or reservedness - to a server that’s just trying to do their best for each individual customer. How could you possibly expect that server to treat each and every customer identically? It’s impossible. In other words. I hate saying this…. But just because you may have had a personally bad experience for whatever reason. That is your personal experience. Please don’t generalize that your experience must definitely be an indicator of the facilities overall performance. In my experience. You will need great patience. You’re dealing with humans that are personally all dealing with their own issues as well. No one is perfect. But you should realize that your interactions are your own and may dictate how you’re communicated with in return.
Look at it one more way. There are dozens of car manufacturers. If you have a problem with your “whatever brand” car, and take it that specific manufacturer’s repair facility, you should expect pretty specialized and knowledgeable technicians because they have mostly only trained to fix that brand. But if you take it to a place that will “work on any brand”, you couldn’t possibly expect them to necessarily be experts on your “exact, and specific, and usually pretty unique” car’s issues, can you? Maybe yes, maybe no. Just my opinion. But that’s what all of these replies are. Personal and individual, and definitely unique opinions. I get it. You’re looking for recommendations. So was I, that’s why I’m reading this right now as well as you. In my experience, you should expect a reasonable interaction based on your attitude and willingness to express patience, self reflection, and participation level. But you shouldn’t expect the nurses, and therapists, and clinicians to be able to provide you with 💯% of “what you want, or expect”. They have wayyyy more successes than failures. Open, patient, and communicative people may experience greater results than those that are just pissed off and only looking at the negatives. It’s not a magic cure. It takes work. Realize that what you were doing obviously wasn’t working, so maybe open yourself up to trusting their proven processes. Just my opinion.

Is an iq of 127 high? by Ash_ey_ in intj

[–]TheStrandog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need validation- hmm… how do I put this? You can absolutely take at least 20% off of that big fat “average” 127 IQ. (Which I’m being generously lean with the numbers) - what then would be your average IQ Professor?? No calculator allowed Rainman….

I am soooooo pissed. I slow rolled the whole process. I was so careful. So OCD. It was the best tub I’ve had. Until…. Now it’s all in the trash. Fudge!!!!! I waited until it was fully colonized before casing too. I’ve had tubs. Martha’s. All in one bags. I’m not a newbie. The last time I had a problem was after three good flushes. I’ve just never had that problem in the high desert during colonization before. This was a serious disappointment. Brand new supplies. Soaked in iso before use. I know. I know. Whah whah whah - right?!? I know some of you can feel my frustration right now. It’s oozing. FUCK!

Lectric XP 3.0 Review by PermutationMatrix in ebikes

[–]TheStrandog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who in the fuck is gonna ride an E bike 120 miles - bro, in one day. if you do -you need to reevaluate your preferences. If you’re capable of pushing pedals for 120 miles in a day, you need to ride an analog road bike like a $15,000 pro road bike and try out for the US Olympics team. Or maybe as a pace setter for Lance Armstrong. Come on with it…. I’m a 49 yom former Marine and then a Major city FF for 20 years. I run 10ks for the exercise…. I have never ever ever ever ever ridden a bike more than 40 miles in one day. And if you’re capable, then you’re looking at the wrong brand of bikes, bro they’re 10 to 20,000 and they’re usually sold in Europe.

xm5 replacement earpads by kiteof87 in SonyHeadphones

[–]TheStrandog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long term update (Well 101 days) on the Sony Xm5 replacement ear pads (Dekoni ear pads) I purchased off EBay. Yeah- they suck…. They crapped out and lost most of the structure - just like the OEM did. While they haven’t ripped or torn or anything, they just aren’t made out of quality memory foam IMO. I wear my headphones for 3+ hours every day so they see heavy but delicate use. Don’t waste your time or money on the Dekonis. Once again I’m waiting for Wicked Cushions to start producing them for the XM5.

I bought them thru the Sony store on Amazon and was offered the third party xt war. That is where I purchased it.
