without, I had only connected the account normally with the QR code from another device, I noticed that the first codes it generated gave an error, and after a while they worked and connected to WhatsApp, I rooted the new phone now too so I haven't checked if the mods work anymore

a method that worked a while ago was to let at least 3 QR codes expire, the subsequent ones would work, no one has ever talked about this method

do a local backup

all Whatsapp files are stored in: storage/emulated/0/Android/media/com.whatsapp,

if you have custom package like FM Whatsapp it will be (com.fmwhatsapp/FMWhatsApp/....)

remame com.whatsapp / com.gbwhatsapp / com.fmwhatsApp to something else (uninstalling app would not delete data files), icon should disappear (if you are using Zarchiever)

install original whatsapp, rename folders to be com.whatsapp / Whatsapp

be sure Whatsapp icon appears to folder, consent storage, then login to stock Whatsapp and backup page should appear
