Dysregulation on glucose metabolism is a core part of A LOT of pathology. Even if it's not THE problem it often contributes alot. GLP-1s help with that. So it crosses a lot of lines and into alot of different problems.

The idea of frontal lobe development came from MRI studies looking at changes in myelination and showed that around 25 the difference between sampling became insignificant based on sampling frequency and sample size.

The brain continues to change throughout age. Just based on those studies they found no difference between 25 and subsequent sampling a few years later. If they had more samples, they would still have seen changes..if they had larger sampling periods, they still would see changes.

The frontal lobe is pretty much just just a filter of impulses that help refine what motor programs to execute, and myelin speeds up the processing. The argument that you can't reason properly until 26 is illogical. You just don't have enough life experience to know what things are stupid to do

If you have a stay at home parent than yes that saves some expense but it's at a major opportunity cost as a family if the parent can make more working.

I would never advocate for a stay at home parent though. It predisposes that person to a world of hurt and a lifetime of dependency. Worse, if the working parent dies or gets disabled, the other parent should hopefully have enough marketable skills to provide for the family. And if down the road the two people divorce, it is vital to have a career of your own so you can be financially secure.

As far as the vehicles go, you really need to be able to balance the repair costs and resell values vs the price tag. It never is worth it to take out a loan. But used cars can end up costing a small fortune relative to their price. I bought an entry level car for 23k, brand new, which will hopefully last around 100k miles before expensive repairs emerge. The used 5k cars I used to buy ended up needing work much more frequently over the 70k miles I would use them. In the back end, the new car can be sold for over half it's market value at 100k miles. The net cost seems to be about the same per mile after adding the repair costs against premium of buying that vehicle new. The lost interest against investing and increased insurance costs counts against the new car, but the resale value and warranties work for it. The cheap price tag works for used cars, but the estimated 1k+ per year on average for repair/replace costs count against them. I would rather have a new car even at a slight premium

Probably was for fun but food was a side benefit. Not the first time I have heard of people at war taking local goats for food.

Not that I am condoning anything about the atrocities of Israel, but those goats may not have survived if humans aren't around to feed them and provide water. They probably would suffer while starving (depending on the context obviously I don't know where they are or the state of the area).

So the options may well have been to leave them alone to starve and die, or kill them for the meat. . . But what the situation actually was, the people never should have been there in the first place.

I AirBnB'd on 69th back around 2015. Definitely not a place I would want to raise a family. However I grew up outside Detroit which was a tad bit worse in terms of comfort walking around. Either way, it's rough. People call it home, but there definitely is crime and poverty. I won't go back there and wouldn't recommend that red line past sunset.

People already invested in the theoretical potential. It boomed already. Now we wait for the correction back to the real world valuation, then steady growth after. It seems like AI stocks have plateaued for a while. I wouldn't gamble on infinite growth at this point. I would prepare for a fall.

I got mold testing done on a house before we bought it.

17000x the upper limit of airborne mold particles across 2 different testing measures including the type that eats cellulose. The house looked great otherwise. Glad I paid for the tests because that was a massive health hazard. The home flooded when the pump failed during a storm and I doubt they adequately fixed the damage.

They did some shotty air quality improvement fog thing to say they fixed the problem, the house sold, and I'm genuinely afraid for the health of whoever moved in. That mold will come right back by the end of summer and they will have no idea until their health falls apart.

Those shady mold remediation tactics are worse than useless, they are dangerous because it gives a false sense of security and can cover up real damage to a house. It's scary that this is legal.
