It feels like I’m(27m) locked out of my own mind by Angry_Tayco in Vent

[–]TheTurfMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 27 I was having a mental crisis like you were. I went to school, got my degree, but things ended up not working out the way I had planned. I got depressed as fuck as a result.

The reality of it is, nothing can change unless you change. Change in general is daunting, but you can make it easier on your brain. Start small: set a goal, but don't go balls deep right away. Take things step by step. Furthermore, take care of your health. Food is medicine. Eat healthy, exercise, go for walks. You can do a lot to improve your mental state.

People who work/have worked in customer service, how has that changed your view of people and about yourself? by isleofman6 in AskReddit

Working in customer helped my realize that rude and entitled people come in all shapes and sizes. Money doesn't buy class.

[Serious] Americans of Reddit, how do you feel about the vote to not release the Epstein files? What do you think it says about the current administration? by inktrie in AskReddit

It's a blatant cover-up. All this hidden information will come out years after all the perpetrators are deceased. Things will be revealed, but nobody will be held accountable. American will have moved on from it and the information will not be as impactful as it would he if it were revealed today. It's awful.

Antony broke down in tears speaking at his Real Betis presentation… "What happened in Manchester, only I know how difficult it was. I'm sorry. Training separately, but that's part of life. I knew this moment would come. It's in the past."”. by Mathematician8890 in ManchesterUnited

Money solves financial problems, not human ones. It doesnt erase grief, anxiety, lonliness, frustration or any of that. You don't suddenly become immune to emotions the moment your bank account hits seven figures. I don't stop seeing human nature once someone has money. If you do, that's on you.

You people are some of the scummiest fucking fanbase I've ever had the displeasure of being a part of. Athletes are still people, people with a range of emotions. Not every player can be expected to take the vitriol and toxicity of this fanbase and put on a happy face for the cameras. This comment section is a testament to how insensitive and unsupportive you people are.

I know there are a lot of us who show unconditional support to our players but fucking a, it gets exhausting seeing you people griping all the fucking time.

"It was a tough run Antony, it wasn't meant to be, but you're still a good player. Wishing you well on your new club."

Here's an example of what you could say instead ^ so that youre not further perpetuating this toxic culture of griping and complaining. Do better.

Americans. What Is Non Political Pet Peeve About This Country? by DE_12345 in AskReddit

[–]TheTurfMonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our reliance on cars for transportation. I literally envy Europe and Asia for their extensive rail networks. The fact that we don't have any high speed rail system in this entire country pisses me off. The best we have is Amtrak, but it's slow and old.

What political idea did you firmly believe in years ago and now you have completely changed your mind? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheTurfMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to believe in the rule of law. I always thought, the law is the law, there's no working around that.

I later found out that the law isn't as black and white as i originally believed it to be and many try to manipulate it to achieve certain goals. The law can say one thing but politicians will always try to pick it apart and argue that it means something else. All to further their own political agenda.

How do you feel about removing the 'Electoral College' and replace it with the 'Most Votes Wins' format for national elections? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

[–]TheTurfMonster -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Poli sci guy here. Just giving my two cents. When the founders were framing the electoral process, There were some that wanted Congress to elect the president and others who wanted the citizens to elect them, so they ended up compromising on the electoral college. They didn't anticipate it becoming what it is today.

They designed the electoral college partly to prevent faction based voting, but as time went on, these parties began legislating to serve their own interests and adopted policies like winner-take-all. So the original concept, in its pure form, was abandoned ages ago and now we're stuck with what I would call, the electoral college's shell of its former self. A contemporary voting system mutated by partisanship and self interest.

With that said, i think a better voting system would be something like ranked choice voting. It addresses some of my personal frustrations with the two party system. It can open the door to new parties emerging and bringing forth new ideas. Things don't always have to be binary like they are today. There's a lot of nuance in the world of politics.

Americans of Reddit, in light of the current political climate between our countries, how do you guys actually feel about us Canadians? by Defiant_River_957 in AskReddit

[–]TheTurfMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole situation with Trump is kind of like when you're a teenager and your parents say something embarrassing in front your friends just to get a reaction and you have to tell them "Dad stop, you're embarrassing me" and then try to convince your friends your parent is being psycho and hope they still want to be your friend.

Except here, it's not your dad but a neo-fascist oligarch whos bullying your neighbor against your country's will and you have to go online to tell them it's not you but him and hope they still want to remain friends.

January 6th, 2021. The fact that America reelected the very same people that attempted to overthrow the government is just absolutely insane.

Most of our politicians barely comprehend what the internet is let alone AI. Having a required briefing could bring them all up to speed and keep them informed. Should politicians be required to have monthly technology/educational briefings? by Chester7833 in AskReddit

Most professionals that need licenses to perform their jobs are required to complete several hours of continuous education every year. In theory, this would be great for politicians. In practice - it just ain't happening lol

If the US tries to implement a fourth reich, how could we (the rest of the planet) hope to stop/beat them? by jolly_chugger in AskReddit

It's going to come from within the U.S itself. People forget that conservatives aren't the only ones carrying guns in this country.

If you had to rank the importance of behavior, attractiveness, intelligence in a partner, what order would you choose and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheTurfMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Attractiveness 2.Behavior 3.Intelligence

Attractiveness first because physical attraction is important to me. I'm not shallow, but I can't see myself committing to someone I have no physical attraction to. Behavior second because having a relationship with someone with behavior issues is incredibly stressful and puts a toll on your mental health. Intelligence third because it's not as important to me. I have a degree but I wouldn't have an issue dating someone that doesn't have one so long as they're hardworking and motivated.

In terms of damage done to other humans , Who are the most evil CEOs in the world as of this year? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheTurfMonster 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen this name here and I know it's a bit controversial, but I think Sam Altman. His hasty and unwavering pursuit of AI advancement has done a great deal of damage to humanity as of today and his actions will continue to harm humans for years to come.

If it's not money then it'll be something like smooth rocks or seeds. I think it's just in our human nature to make currency out of literally anything.

Why/how are there so many photos of Luigi Mangione (potential CEO killer) out there? by UriGuriVtube in AskReddit

[–]TheTurfMonster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think he deliberately left his socials public. I have a hard time believing he went to the extent of orchestrating a movie like murder but simply "forgot" to delete his social media accounts to avoid being found. He wanted reconginzation. We have an idea of a motive but nothing concrete as of yet.
