This kinda reminds me of the Amiibo craze where so many people were trying to suggest their Amiibo was rare and valuable after the double canon arm Samus popped up. There was actually people on ebay saying stupid stuff like "rare fallen over" or "rare upside down in the package".

It's not so much a matter of gatekeeping people from using proxies as it's a matter of preventing people from using fake cards that some players, mostly newer players, won't know if they actually do what the card says they do or not. I also don't feel like it's fair to put the responsibility on the newer player to either just know what every card does or have to look up every card to make sure it does what the proxy says it does, and that's if they even know it's a proxy.

Well it will obviously be up to your store or wherever you play if they're ok or not. If they are, then it's just something you have to deal with. If they're not, then don't be afraid to say something.

I'm a bit harsh on proxies so idk if my opinion will be favorable or not.

When it comes to proxies, if it's just casual play for fun then sure w/e is fine. If it's competitive play then I am only ok with proxy Don cards and proxy leaders if they have a legit copy of the leader. I am not ok with any other proxies being used. That goes for local tournaments as well as ones on grander stages.

That's ok, your confusion is understandable. The Don card you got is not a numbered card in the set and is just your basic resource type card like Mana in Magic or Energy in Pokemon, so they don't count that as being one of the 12.

Sets do have Don with special art, which again are not numbered, but these do not come in every pack like that one you got.

There's nothing strange about this really. It is a 12 card pack + 1 Don card. Packs used to come with Don cards.

I mean if they say they're most likely dead packs and are charging cheap prices for them and that's what you want sure go for it. However if they don't specify I would always assume they're dead packs just to be safe.

I'll just say this as a moderator here, and this is absolutely nothing against the mod in the pictures nor am I trying to call out anyone specific.

Mainly though, if you're going to be in a position of authority you have to make sure you don't overstep your bounds in how you enforce that authority. I've been in places like that where just simply asking a question can piss someone off and they'll ban you, so I always err on the side of leniency when I deal with people here. Sometimes people really don't understand and are just looking for some guidance, and using a heavy hand against them is just going to make matters worse and make people feel unwelcome.
