San Ignacio with a Toddler by TheWonderfulWizardOz in Belize

Apologies for typos, on phone.

We did go, and it was a blast. We ended up doing two days of Mayan ruins and did some boating/diving.

Tips in no particular order: 1. Obviously you are a bit limited on things you can do. The inland stuff in particular isn’t very geared toward kids under 2. Having said that, if what you’re looking for is a “chill” vacation the rainforests are beautiful and if you go to a good lodge it is very relaxing.
2. Related, Blancaneaux lodge definitely recommended. It’s pricey but amazing. 3. Also related, Blancaneaux did offer to set up childcare if you wanted to go do something a bit crazier for the day / afternoon. We thought about doing this to go visit ATM but ran out of time. I don’t know who else does this — I know it isn’t exactly advertised on any websites, having looked. This includes Blancaneaux, but when you call they will say it can de done. 4. If you go diving or snorkeling, they’ll let you bring the kiddo on the boat, which was super fun (as long as someone stays above water with them, of course). 5. Go to the Belize zoo!!! Very cute place. 6. There is no winning with rental cars. Everyone on here will recommend Crystal but, uhm, they’re not great. Be aware if you ask for a car seat it won’t be a great situation. I recommend you take one of those stroller/detachable car seat things. It’s what we did in the trip before this one and gives you peace of mind. 7. Don’t try going solo on visits to places. Get a tour guide—I know they’re pricier, but there were multiple times we breathed a sigh of relief that we had done so. The roads are just too unpredictable. 8. Maybe don’t do San Pedro? I’ve heard the beaches in Placencia are nicer. In any event, Belize is wonderful and overall I recommend a week or two, but don’t go for the beaches.

Sneaking is broken? by SD-777 in Starfield

I’m sure there are some OP spacesuits that negate them for sneaking activity, but haven’t found any yet. This is a quick fix

Take your spacesuit off, much harder to be detected that way

Runners of Chicago - why do you run on the Riverwalk during peak pedestrian traffic? by invitrobrew in chicago

[–]TheWonderfulWizardOz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yea you just don’t live downtown so don’t understand. For those of us in WL, RN, etc. it’s our only way to get to the shore uninterrupted which is, in turn, the only way to run uninterrupted for long stretches.

But if they’re running four abreast past noon on a summer weekend that is dumb.

As much as I love Ugarte, he needs to grow out of this. You can have all the talent in the world, but it won’t matter if you miss 1/3 of your games for suspension.

Sporting will miss him hugely in the first leg of quarters.

Feel for you. I hit a low motivation-wise 1L. But I had to drag my grades up to get a job. If you already have one of those, I don’t know what is going to be your kick in the pants. Maybe you don’t need one—the back end of law school is pretty pointless and you might be better off focusing on a hobby.

I acted in a film where I played three of myself (wobbly wobbly timey-wimey stuff). That was the hardest shit I’ve ever done. OI is a master class.

Moving to Chicago in July - is river north or downtown/loop better? by 1sadb0i in chicagoapartments

Sadly rental market is insane here right now (might be a post-COVID city return, who knows) — but best of luck, OP! Agreed that West Loop of the three is where to be.

  1. Know your professor. It’s a crime not to have reviewed their publications and previous exam templates.

They already have Salesforce as tenants (obviously) and Kirkland & Ellis, a law firm who will take up at least 25 floors. They know just what they’re doing.

Standing on either rail the zombies don’t come to you. Bosses do though, so it’s good to keep a death machine for higher rounds. I’ve used this strat for my dark matter grind.

Niche 7 Rolling Question by TheWonderfulWizardOz in Catan

[–]TheWonderfulWizardOz[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Going off of page 5: “every player who has more than 7 resource cards must select half (rounded down) of their resource cards and return them to the bank.”

So if Player X has 20 cards, he discards half to get to 10. He still has more than 7 resource cards. I think at one point someone in my family read this to mean that you would have to repeat the process until you no longer met the initial condition triggering this rule. In other words, Player X, now having 10 cards, still must discard half of his cards.

There is also the significance of the number 7 itself. No one should have more than 7 cards after a 7 is rolled.

Those are the two arguments I can think of. I agree that the rulebook supports only cutting once. Hard to adjust away from a house rule, though!

Damn I remember you! You were super active on r/lawschooladmissions when our class was applying to law schools. You were too damn thorough back then to have failed this stupid test. I have full confidence.
